Love is not a feeling but an action. Love is truth, If we love our fellow Man we must tell them the truth no matter how it makes them feel or how it makes us look. It is only through the truth that we will be set free.

Jesus quoted part of Psalm 22 when He said, ‘My God, why have you forsaken me?’. Hebrews 13:5 says Jesus/God will never leave us. How can I, like Jesus, pray that part of Psalm 22?

On the cross Jesus felt the full weigh of mankind’s sin upon his shoulder. Even for Jesus, he experienced the pain of consequence of sins. The most painful part is the separation from God. Sin separates us from God. Jesus experienced that separation at that moment like everybody else who sins. He had never sin but he took all ours in full nevertheless and as he experienced the burden of shouldering these sins and the separation from the Father, he cried, “My God, why have art thou forsaken me?”

But God truly would not forsake an obedient and humble servant and for that God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. **Phil 2:9-11**

I can pray that part of the psalm as I am inspired by Jesus himself. When I sin I humbly bow before God in humility and repentance and I know that God will never forsake me as he did with Jesus.

What an awesome God we have!

I think there is the reality that we must die to ourselves to live in Christ.

Mother Theresa said mercy and compassion without Christ is social work. I see it all the time.

Problem is that to start over every day…to not depend on self and to live on Christ’s power from His death and resurrection-- as others wisely shared, is very hard. Especially in our culture…

So it is a struggle to make time for daily prayer, especially in the morning…to use that time to encounter Christ…and to bring Him to those close to you, not far away places. I mean, we give to those in Haiti…but the giving of ourselves is best used to those around us.

Aside from the individual daily restoration in Christ, I think it important in this culture, that we strive each day to restore fragmented Christianity.

I read a piece a year or so ago, that God will judge us with the little things…and it looks like that when you read the Gospels…The Word Made Flesh in us through Christ, being His heart, thoughts, hands, and feet to others.
