What should we think about "Day of the Dead" celebrations?

Hello. Both my friend and I are practicing Catholics and have been friends for many years. I notice that she is celebrating the "day of the dead’. She is not Mexican/Hispanic and I am. 🙂 Nobody in my family has ever celebrated this and I know they do more in other countries.
I am questioning her celebrating this because she uses skeletons, witches, ghosts and pumpkins to decorate as well as asks people to dress up. I know we have “All souls day”, but not necessarily a day for celebration (in my opinion), but for prayer and remebrance. And we have “All Saints” to celebrate those who are alive with God and we can dress as a saint.
I guess I feel she is delighted to use skeletons, witches and “cute” halloween things instead of “All Hallows Eve” or “All Souls” themed/spirited focus. We should celebrate the living and pray for the dead.

Comments please. Thank you.
