I’m having trouble just keeping up with everything going on in my life right now, including work, feeding the pets, feeding myself, getting all my daily prayers said, and getting laundry done.

The good part is it doesn’t leave much time for temptations, except for the temptation to break my Lenten “no coffee except for Sundays” self-imposed rule, and the temptation to be snarky on the Internet.

I assure you, you’re still in the running for CAF’s Humility Award.

Last year’s runner-up unexpectedly grabbed the bragging rights that come with such a prestigious award after the unanimously voted winner refused to take the trophy home, and called the whole event “a hollow award, the Knights didn’t even wear their plumed chapeaux to my ceremony”.

That former runner-up who took home the trophy has since been banned for being uncharitable. And some of your competitors for this coveted award are currently under suspension. Given these fortuitous events, your chances are looking good.

I broke the “abstinence from meat on Friday” 's rule by
going to the Soup Kitchen, which served - meat.
But that is a Venial sin which can be atoned for by
taking communion w/ contrition for having failed
and a resolve to “do better” next Friday!!

The first Sunday of Lent I drunk something like 5 or 6 coffees which is about 4 or 5 more than I would normally drink, and I was up till 3 am 😂
 
For Lent I started a swear jar. The money will go to charity. I had 50 cents in it at a quarter a swear until last weekend. There is about five dollars in it now. I guess I do not have a handle on that.

Note, I started this thread, b/c I thot that 3-6 2018 was
some day of note. However, I DO have a thread called
“How goes YOUR Lent?” if you want to vent!!
 
Hollywood actress Loretta Young who was a devout Catholic used to have one of those swear jar thingies on the set of her TV show. If any member of the cast or crew swore, they had to put a quarter in the jar or something, and she’d give the proceeds to a Catholic charity. One day some director was having a bad day and swore and Loretta said something like, “that’s 50 cents you owe the swear jar” and the guy pulled out a 20 and said, “Here’s twenty bucks Loretta, now f* off!”

I know it’s bad of me but that story always makes me laugh.
