I feel real bad and play the baptist role asking for God’s mercy and forgiveness with the intention of going to confession at my earliest opportunity. I was wondering, if, Lord forbids—I go to sleep and die before May 21st, would I definitely end up in hell? I fear that for I want more than anything to be in God’s good graces.
In addition to what I said earlier…make and act of perfect contrition intending to go to confession as soon as possible…if one is in mortal sin…it is possible for thus the grace of God to restore you before you make it there…(but you should still confess any mortal sins before communion)
Catechism:
Contrition
1451 Among the penitent’s acts contrition occupies first place. Contrition is "sorrow of the soul and detestation for the sin committed, together with the resolution not to sin again."50
1452 When it arises from a love by which God is loved above all else, contrition is called “perfect” (contrition of charity). Such contrition remits venial sins; it also obtains forgiveness of mortal sins if it includes the firm resolution to have recourse to sacramental confession as soon as possible.51
1453 The contrition called “imperfect” (or “attrition”) is also a gift of God, a prompting of the Holy Spirit. It is born of the consideration of sin’s ugliness or the fear of eternal damnation and the other penalties threatening the sinner (contrition of fear). Such a stirring of conscience can initiate an interior process which, under the prompting of grace, will be brought to completion by sacramental absolution. By itself however, imperfect contrition cannot obtain the forgiveness of grave sins, but it disposes one to obtain forgiveness in the sacrament of Penance.52
(PS Venial sins are forgiven in many ways…via contrition, prayer, many ways etc…it is not just a “baptist” thing

…it is very catholic to make an act of contrition in prayer…etc…but very recommended to confess at least some venial sins…)
(and as I noted…even mortal sins can be forgiven via the grace of perfect contrition…(one is still restored by the grace of God)…so seek to make this kind of act of contrition…seek this grace…and still seek out a Priest…for one still needs to confess them as soon as reasonably possible…and before Communion)
Jesus the Good Shepherd loves you!
