Octavarium is my favorite album, and that’s led me to listen to it an innumerable number of times. Post Train of Thought, Systemic Chaos and A Dramatic Turn of Events are also among my favorites. For some reason, I really like their self-titled album, though I rarely listen to as an album, and the same goes for Black Clouds and Silver Linings - I just listen to songs individually here and there. I’d probably listen to The Astonishing a lot more if it weren’t 2 hours long! I actually love it, but trying to get the whole story in a single listen is daunting.I’ve been listening to Dream Theater lately, too. Just made it through all 14 studio albums. I realized that after “Train of Thought”, I’d only listened to the subsequent albums a handful of times.
When I first heard Scenes From a Memory, I had it on near non-stop repeat for about a week. I have no idea how many times I listened to it during that time, but it may still be my most played Dream Theater album from that. The only other albums I’ve had that reaction to were Blind Guardian’s Nightfall in Middle-Earth and Carach Angren’s Where Corpses Sink Forever.I had to go back and listen to “Scenes From a Memory” twice, though. I love that album.
