Au Clair de la Lune

Recorded in 1860, earliest known recording of a human voice. The video starts out with the original and then plays an enhanced version without the extra noise. Just facinating to hear the voice of someone from 1860.

Now why did our string orchestra never try that back in high school??
The only modern piece I remember doing was “The Homecoming” by Hagood Hardy. [We played that for the grade 13 graduates … the graduation was always held in the fall after everyone had left for university. Thus “The Homecoming” rather than the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance”.]
