What the Hell?

Actually, God designed us to be with him. We CAN’T be happy without him! That’s the whole point.

We’re thinking God is like some kind of jilted lover? God loves us more than anybody else ever could. He, literally, became our food and drink! He paid for our debts. Even after all he’s given us, we still think HE’S the problem!

It would be sort of like someone who loved you enough to give you a kidney, except he didn’t stop at the kidney! Then, we people even now prefer to go with Satan! Gosh!

We think we can’t be happy with God, but the alternative is Satan. In the moment we reject God, Satan will seize that soul. We have been warned countless times but have refused to listen.

Have you read the Bible and seen how many chances and second chances and hundredth and thousandth chances he’s given us as a people?

Look about. We deserve destruction! If God were to say he wanted to destroy us, myself included, I wouldn’t be able to blame him! I’d have to just say, “Amen!”

He’s given us commandments…miracles…paradise. We are such an ungrateful, rebellious, selfish, people!

We’re never happy. He’s given us his body and blood, and we still try to say he’s a tyrant. What more would we expect him to do or give?
All of us would do ANYTHING for our children. If our children rejected us and ran away, would we hunt them down and kill them? Of course not. However, that effectively is what hell is. We run away from God in this life, and he pays us back in spades. That is not right. I think that the message has been truly misconstrued by the church. Jesus said that when he was to be crucified, he would “draw all men unto me.” Not “some” men, but “all” men. I think that Jesus’ blood saves us all.

Ahh you got it both right and wrong.

The Father has the infinite love to will the best for his children. Will does not mean He removes our free will.
The children on the other hand can run away from home and go straight to perdition.
God does not hunt us to kill us. He does not force His presence onto someone that prefer to be by himself.
What you are proposing is a scapegoat to indulge in our selfish desires AND pretend we will be rewarded at the end of our lives with Heaven. Which by the way is a mockery of justice. Divine justice.
getting to Heaven is not a free ride, St Paul declares, we need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Jesus declared, the road to Heaven is narrow while the road to perdition (hell) is wide. Meaning it is easier to walk on a wide road compared to a narrower one.

renewfaith196, you mentioned this passage from St. John.
“I was just reading in John 5:25 this morning, where Jesus said, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who will hear will live.’ The scripture clearly is talking about people who are already dead. How can dead people hear the gospel?”

This was said by Jesus before his passion and death. But after his death, in another part, it mentions how he descended into hell to preach. This hell is really what is called Limbo, a tempory place for those who were good, and who were waiting for the coming savior. St. Joseph, for example, would have been one, and St. Ann and St. Joachim would be as well, and of course the old testiment profits and kings, to mention a few.

The creed cites this at Mass, “…he descended into hell, the third day he rose again from the dead.”

The other hell, which is for the evil people, they could not be saved, for anyone in eternal hell is never released.

May God bless and keep you. May God’s face shine on you. May God be kind to you and give you peace.
