What to do at the new mass!?

We may be talking “potato potahto” here, maybe two different parts of the Mass.

The priest does say “The peace of the Lord be with you always” at the Sign of Peace, right? at least that’s what it says on the Mass responses card reprinted on the previous page.
Maybe you’re talking about a different point in the Mass.

That is what the priest says. That is not limited to bishops only. However, at the other parts of mass where a priest would say, “The Lord be with you,” a bishop, instead, says, “Peace be with you.”

The version I posted, if I did it right, you should be able to right click and copy to Paint, and then put the two images side by side on a 8.5x11 “paper” in landscape orientation in Word. Then you can print out a single sheet you can fold in half like a little book and carry to Mass with you. I made them for my Parish. You can also put two on one side and two on the other and have handy 4x6 sheets that have the changes on front and back. I like them side-by-side to follow the Creed.

Thanks, Julia Mae, for posting this. I’m not clever enough to figure out what you meant, but I printed out front and back of an A4 paper-- and am quite happy to have it.

You can buy it at Staples or something. I guarantee your word processing software knows what it is.

I’ve been looking around online so I can find out what I’m supposed to say and do when the new mass goes into effect. Can somebody direct me to some resource? It’s too bad that it’s been hard to find; I would hope that people would have been trying to make it as easy as possible to find to get the message out.

My parish has given out printed cheap copies of this:

and a family has also donated 2,000 commercially printed ones from a company, which remain in the pews.

The point that I was trying to make is that if your pastor expects you to use the correct translations, he should have arranged for his parishioners to have the materials needed. So people don’t have to worry how they will know what to say. But Sure- Go ahead and print your copies if you want to practice.

Happy to report that I went to my local Catholic bookstore and snagged me a copy of the new Daily Roman Missal, hardcover edition ! The bonded leather and genuine leather editions aren’t expected till mid December and late January, respectively.

I had gotten spoiled awhile back with the Baronius Press missal for the Tridentine Mass (which I get to from time to time,) and had found a set of the St. Joseph Daily and Sunday missals in the secondhand section of the bookstore last year. Now that the ordinary of the Mass is changing, along with prefaces, etc, I’ve been determined to get a Third Roman Missal as soon as they came out. Today’s purchase was a combined belated birthday and early Christmas present to me, from me. I don’t think God’s going to begrudge me this little splurge.

I think we certainly should have copies if we want them, and people are asking for them. It’s not like anybody here doesn’t have a computer.

It’s just the standard “letter size” paper (close to 8.5 x 11 inches, but a little narrower and a little longer) that is used in all countries except the US and Canada.

We have already started using the new translation and so I know that we are going to be provided with — nothing. They are projecting the words from computer onto TV screens, and I suspect it is only done at the Masses with large attendance. It will be nice to have something in my purse that I can pull out if need be. And I suppose I should make a conscious effort to learn the new parts.
