What to do if you witnessed an apparition?

Say The Name of Jesus aloud, reverently. Make the sign of the cross. Hold a crucifix. Sprinkle holy water. Talk to your priest.

I wonder if any of the testing the spirit stuff listed here has been tried at medjogourie

When Padre Pio had a vision of “Mary” he told the vision to leave because the feet were covered and not exposed. Satan is afraid to show his feet because Mary’s feet will crush the head of Satan.

Advice of the saints is:

Number 1: say the name Jesus out loud. If it is not of God it will be banished by Jesus Name.
Also make the sign of the cross at it, and command it, “In.the Name of Jesus, I command you to say Jesus Name.” If it cannot say Jesus name, then it is not of God.
Sprinkle holy water at it (evil must leave immediately when.holy water is sprinkled, because Holy Water has exorcism prayers upon it.)
Also give commands in Jesus Name, eg: “In the Name of Jesus I command you to leave immediately if you are not of God.”

Pray the St Michael prayer over and over. If it is not of God it will be banished and be powerless as you pray.

Claim.the protection of the precious blood of Jesus on yourself.
Say or pray, “In the Name of Jesus I cover you with the Precious Blood of Jesus and say you are powerless and are banished from me in Jesus Name.”

Don’t believe the apparition, tell a holy priest during confession and believe their decision only.
Padre Pio said he could not believe anything of private revelation revealed to him, until he told a confessor who told him whether it was from God or not. Because: the Bible says, “Satan masquerades as an angel of light.”

So, tell a holy priest at your next chance and obey their commands.
I guess Saint Juan Diego wasn’t up on the latest criteria.

Yes, in the beginning one of the visionaries Grandmothers told her to sprinkle holy water on Our Lady when Our Lady appeared.
Our Lady just smiled when the Holy Water was sprinkled on her.

Haha very funny Tim, 🙂

I listed the deliverance advice of.the saints. So don’t make fun haha 🙂

Yes as happened at Guadeloupe, telling a priest or bishop (or both), is always the main thing to do with private revelations, and to obey their decision 🙂

What I also listed was the saints advice of deliverance of what to do immediately when a private revelation is happening, of what the saints advice in case the revelation is satanic in origin. Because if that is the case, the apparition needs to be banished rather than let continue 🙂

The most powerful weapon to conquer the devil is humility. For, as he does not know at all how to employ it, neither does he know how to defend himself from it.
–Saint Vincent de Paul
How do we employ this?

How do we employ this?
Humility in how you use all of the advice mentioned so far

Such as:
Humility in submitting any private revelation to your bishop or a priest and obeying their decision.

Humility: believing Jesus is stronger, trust in Jesus in all deliverance advice offered so far (use of holy water, sign of the Cross, use of the Name of Jesus etc)

Exorcists say, in all their deliverance prayers they practice humility that it is God who is keeping them safe (not anything on their part, besides walking the straight path of the commandments)

Ah but is there any proof there was an apparition. Or they continued.

The Vatican has sent a Cardinal as Papal Envoy to Medjugorje currently.
This Cardinal is Polish, and has said, he has seen the good fruits of Medjugorje in his parishioners returning from pilgrimage there. He has heard the testimonies of healings, conversions. He said a good tree brings good fruit. He said the church is always slow to pronounce a final decision on private revelation, and that the Medjugorje apparitions are still ongoing so the church cannot yet pronounce a final decision.
He said he has witnessed 50 priests hearing confessions at one time in Medjugorje last month and said that confession in Medjugorje is a miracle, that 2 million people come to Medjugorje each year (and confessions are dwindling in the Western World). He prayed to Our Lady Queen of Peace (at a Medjugorje Parish Mass he presided over, -Queen of Peace is Our Lady of Medjugorje’s title).
He said and the Vatican said Medjugorje is not finished and the Pope / Vatican have not released a final decision yet, and that Pope Francis’ sending a Papal Envoy to Medjugorje is not a condemnation of Medjugorje at all.
He also said that the local Bishops condemnation of Medjugorje does not bear any weight because Medjugorje was given to the Vatican and Pope to decide upon, and that they are yet to reveal their final decision. And that he will accept their final decision when it is spoken.

Many people are confused about why he was there. The Papal Envoy was there strictly to look at Pastoral Care for the people there, and visiting pilgrim Pastoral Care.

The visit was not looking at the alleged Apparitions.

The Title Our Lady Queen of Peace was in use long before these alleged apparitions .

I am reading an interesting book atm called Spiritual Warfare Against the Woman. Marian Apparitions are discussed in the context of the frequency and the message of Apparitions over recent centuries. Our Lady at Lourdes had the message of prayer and her Immaculate Conception and penance. Our Lady at Fatima had the message of Prayer, penance, reparation to outrages in the modern world. And consecrating, entrusting ourselves to her , so as God could work through her and us , to turn back the tide of secularism, the great weapon of satan. This to be achieved through prayer and penance, and imitating Jesus.

The Behaviour of approved Apparitions, even that of Our Lady of Zeiton , who does not speak, is very different to that of the alleged apparitions at medjigoriue. This itself is great cause for concern. Yes people flock, yes they confess, are their lives turned around forever? But would a person without faith or very little, organise a pilgrimage to a very Out of the way place ? Are these confessions truly miracles, or something one does at medjiguriue? They are Catholics, its what we do, confess. This is truly a great charity of the local Bishops to have Sacraments available to the pilgrims.

Perhaps the true miracles are with the Bishops there in attempting to stay the hand of the great adversary.

We are warned to be wary of false spirits and false prophets. Have any of the visionaries given away their worldly goods to follow Jesus Christ in Poverty, charity, obedience.

Approved Apparitions, if the person having them, is told to stop by Church superiors, our Lady agrees -and says to be obedient to their Priest. Thats the biggest red flag. And the behaviour of this apparition. Why does Our Lady at this site ignore those in authority in the Church of her son?

When the Children of Fatima were thrown in jail, Our Lady did Not follow them.

After they were released, Our Lady appeared in the same place a few days later.

But the most important question is,

Why does the alleged apparition remain in and encourage rebellion against the Body of Christ, the Church of which her Son is the First Priest?
Why is this alleged apparition in rebellion against The Catholic Church?

I have no clue how I would respond. I highly doubt I will see an apparition but IF I do I hope and pray that I respond appropriately.

The Vatican did not command the visionaries to stop having apparitions.

Their local bishop is no longer in authority over the apparitions also according to the Vatican because the matter was given over to the Congregation of the Faith/ Pope / Vatican,
Furthermore the Vatican"s spokesperson Lombardi has said that the Pope’s decision to send a Papal Envoy to Medjugorje is not a condemnation of Medjugorje and that the Vatican still has yet to make its final decision of Medjugorje,

Since apparitions are beyond human control, no authority is going to command anybody to stop having them. What they may ask is those having apparitions not speak publicly about them. That is a different matter.
Generally speaking those having genuine apparitions do not seek publicity. People run after the extraordinary. The Church is slow to render judgment on the authenticity of visions, looking for rational explanations and trying to expose fraud from within rather than have it an outside source expose fraud.
Nothing definitive has been stated about Medjgorje. What has been noted is the number of pilgrims to the site and growth of spirituality in the area.

Years ago I read a book about prayer. The last chapter told the story about a monk who had prayed for years to have a vision. Finally it happened while he in the small chapel. Simultaneously the bell for alms rang. He wasn’t sure what to do, but he got up, left the chapel, and gave the alms to the poor. When he returned he fell on his kneels. The vision was still there, “If you had not left, I would have.”

When we read stories of Fatima, Bernadette, or Our Lady of Guadalupe, interest in our Faith is piqued. These are extraordinary events and moments of Faith. The people involved never expected to be challenged as they were. As scripture tells us, God chooses the lowly to confound the powerful.

What you are saying is complete nonsense.
The local bishops ARE the competent Church authorities and their decision that there is no evidence of any supernatural happenings in Medjugorie stands valid and in force unless the CDF were to overturn it.
The CDF did not take it over. The local bishops asked the CDF to get involved because of the division among Catholics. We know who divides the faithful. It is Satan.
The first action taken by the CDF was to suspend another priest who was supporting the alleged apparitions.
The CDF also has forbidden all parishes worldwide from letting any alleged visionary use Church property for speaking.
Local priests who support the the alleged apparitions have had their faculties suspended.
Priests are forbidden to lead pilgrimages to Medjugorie.
Pope Benedict, while Cardinal Ratzinger, called Medjugorie a hoax.

One day I was at Mass. As the host was elevated, it seemed as if I could see the Christ’s head in the host, like you on the medal.
I already believe in transubstantiation.
It could easily have been my imagination as I was rapt in prayer.
It could also have been the way the light came through the windows at the time of consecration.
The discussion of what I saw/experienced did not need to go any further than with the deacon.
My mother had the exact same experience. She asked my dad why they were holding a picture of Jesus, and he told her that the priest wasn’t. She converted shortly after!

If I remember the incident correctly, I think the deacon did have me tell the priest as it being something he would want to know. Although he was an older priest, he was a widower who had not been a priest very long. I was not the first to have the experience when he was saying Mass. It was easy for me to find logic explanations, including the priest’s height and the way the light just happened to strike the Host at that particular moment. It didn’t matter even if it was only a matter of imagination.
There are many examples throughout Church history of Eucharistic miracles bringing about conversions. The Eucharist holds a special place in my life, as I am sure it does in your mother’s.
