I love that answer! I was an only child during the Baby Boom and yes, I did catch some flak for it. Everyone assumes that only children are “spoiled.”Ask them in an offended tone of voice "“Well, what do you expect ME to do about it??”
I, too, took comfort in the thought that Jesus was an only child.
It’s really nobody’s business-- no one knows what anyone else’s family situation is like.
After feeling sorry for myself all through childhood because I had no brothers or sisters (my mother couldn’t have any more) I am thinking now that maybe it’s not so bad to be a singleton. Now in adulthood, I see families in which siblings are not speaking to each other, or fighting over inheritances.
