I have a new age book that was given to me years ago. What should I do to get rid of it? Is wrong to give the book away or trade it? Is that leading someone to a near occasion of sin? Or should I just pitch it in the trash?

I would NOT give it away or trade it etc (yes that would be wrong…unless say one gave it to someone who uses such to work against the new age etc…)

Burn it (like they did in the Acts of the Apostles!) or rip it up and dispose of it well.

Perhaps sprinkle it too with holy water…

(and I would renounce any possible interest in such…and if need be confess it)

As they used to say in the 60’s, “Burn, baby, burn!”

This is going to be fun. 🙂

Thanks everyone for reaffirming what that nagging voice in head was telling me.

Nothing wrong with throwing out, burning, etc. or otherwise disposing of bad books. 🙂

In fact, if they’re bad books, in one way or another it is the only solution as a rule, because you don’t want to be responsible for any harm it does in someone else’s hands.

And morally you may be obliged to get rid of it yourself too rather than have something harmful in your home.

Be happy that there’s a little less error and evil in the world afterwards.

I would say to recycle it rather than burn it, though burning it seems more fun. 😛

The book, the book, the book is on fire. We don’t need no water [maybe H2Holy] let the New Age Burn. Burn baby burn.

Lol Fire is ALWAYS fun when it’s controlled lol.

Happy burning. And let us know what ya did with it. 👍

pitch it
burning is so not green
better yet send it to recycling, that is new age enough for you

I’m curious. What is in this “New Age” book you are disposing of, either by fire or recycling?

Here is a link to the book: Crystal Children.

I haven’t done anything with it yet. We like to burn things around here. 😃 I’ll let you all know what I do.

To those of you who said sprinkle it with Holy Water, I’m curious. What is it exactly that is supposed to do? Has Holy Water become our magic pixie dust?

I think you have to keep in mind that most of the responses in this thread are tongue-in-cheek. 😛

It was a suggestion added for good measure…

No magic pixie dust …(certainly not!)

But the use of water that has been blessed by the Church and is used not only in blessing and a sign of renewal of ones baptism but in the fight against evil …

Such as in exorcisms.

I borrowed the idea from exorcism-exorcists dealing with certain occult objects…sprinkling them with holy water prior to their destruction…

So I added that as a suggestion prior to the burning of the book in question (Acts 19:19)

But of course do not use* too much* Holy Water…for that would be an impediment to the coming flames…👍
