My Anglican friend is very interested in Catholicism and especially in the rosary. I taught her to pray the rosary and gave her a cheap plastic one, but I was recently in Paris, at Sacré Coeur and I bought two rosaries, a 5 decade one and a single decade one. They are both very similar except the single decade one has a St Thérèse centre. She has often said she only prays one or two decades at a time so I thought she would be more comfortable with a single decade one. I don’t want to be biased and keep the nicest one to myself so I thought I would give the decision to you guys.

I don’t see a problem. One is not nicer than the other. Give her the choice if it’s bugging you.

I pray the whole thing on a single decade rosary - it doesn’t get tangled on things and I like it just fine. Tell her your reasons - it will make it more personal a gift!

Just say, I found this lovely single-decade Raosary which I thought would be perfect for you 🙂

Another option:

“While I was in Paris, I bought these rosaries - one for you and one for me. Which would you like?”

Hold them both in your hands and ask her to take the one she wants and seize this opportunity to offer up. Ask the Lord that this brings her closer to conversion. Remember if she is interested in Catholicism your duty is to be the primary example of what a true selfless Catholic is. So by asking her to truly take the one that is most beneficial for her is meritorious for both her and you. Therefore, more grace will probably be poured out and will make it easier for her to convert to Catholicism. She is seeking so; you must be her provider and help her with direction and charity.

The single decade rosary sounds more in keeping with her preferred mode of prayer. How thoughtful of you!
