Hello,
I recently bought candlesticks in a monastery to help me with prayer at home (it keeps me focused because the light reminds me of God’s presence, it’s super useful). I buy the candles at my church and now that some of them are used I’m wondering what should I do with them. Especially if they’re blessed (I don’t actually know if they are) because I know I shouldn’t just throw them away in that case.
So what is the usual practice regarding that?

Unblessed - throw them out.

Blessed - Here’s what to do with blessed candles. Perhaps return them to the monastery?

Or could you not perhaps melt them (remaining stubs that’s left after you’ve burnt them down) altogether in an old pot, remove the bits of wick, pour the melted wax into a candle mould, insert new wick and then you have another larger candle to continue to use?

Also can be done in cardboard egg cartons. Cut apart when cooled.
