Wondering about anyone else’s take on this experience…

My mother’s funeral had been in the morning at our childhood country church. It was December and there many poinsettias at the funeral home. My sister and I delivered them to the church in the late afternoon - close to dusk. I was in the server’s sacristy putting water in some and she was on the other side of the altar, in front of Mary’s altar placing some of the flowers. No one else was in the church and we were far enough apart that we would have had to raise our voices to speak to each other.

At precisely the same moment, we headed toward each other and met in front of the altar, asking what the other had said. We had each heard voices but neither of us had spoken. To me, it sounded low, as if murmured prayers. She was terribly frightened and insisted we leave immediately, which we did, after I looked around to be sure we were alone.

Can we hear the prayers of saints and souls in church?

Why don’t you go back and try it again, maybe bring a 3rd person with you - and see if you hear it again?

WOW! That is amazing.Perhaps it was your mother reassuring you that shes in Heaven.I will pray for you & I hope you hear it again and get to hear the words.
