I am currently listening to Michael Vorbis’ “Weapons of Mass Destruction” on Youtube. I really don’t want to get into a screaming match with anybody; so I’ll be as charitable as possible: He levels a laundry list of charges against Vatican II and the liturgical reform that followed. Claiming --at least indirectly-- that John XXIII had a hand in the corruption.

Now, Michael Vorbis appears to be as the likes of MHF and their uber-traditionalist, conspiratorial accusations. What do we make of Vorbis and his claims?

He is a highly opinionated man who loves the Church but appears to let his own opinions get in the way of charity.

If I could have dinner with him, I’d suggest he read St Julian Eymard on our duties as Christians.

I tend to ignore him due to the tone of his message although I do believe his intentions are worthy.

I applaud the call to return to a Liturgical purity, but what I’m wondering is: Is Vorbis just calling out Liturgical Abuses? Or is he calling out the entirety of the Novus Ordo?

I personally have a high opinion on Pope John XXIII myself. He couldn’t have possibly known the nutty decade to come. I believe he had excellent intentions. Just read Veterum Sapientia. He did NOT want to get rid of Latin at all!

I believe Michael Voris is a highly opinionated man, and his message needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but I believe his message is still very valuable. I watch his videos rather often. I believe he is helping to effect upon the Catholic Church much of the Reform of the Reform.

Many people think “traditionalists” are mental cases who go too far. But there are extremists on each side, and I think the liberal extremists are far more damaging, at least in the USA. I mean, Mr. Voris isn’t a Sedevacantist or anything, so yeah.

Personally, give me the New Translation, along with the form of the Tridentine Mass, and let THAT be the New Mass.

Are you sure?

That’s how the Michal Voris threads usually end. Isn’t there a very volatile thread on here somewhere?

Well I could make a hat, or a broach, or a nice flower arrangement!

Yikes… It seems like every thread discussing him has disappeared and is inaccessible… I had heard that it was a controversial topic, but had no idea it was frowned upon… I assume that is because it usually devolves into finger-pointing and screaming?

Yep!

Does “MHF” that you referenced in your OP stand for Monster Hunter Freedom?

You’ll get a lot of responses, Zeldarocks - both sides of the coin. But watching WMD is the worst video you could have chosen, considering your desire to enter the Church. You may run back to your own after listening to it.

Hardly.

Frankly, WMD strengthened me; it’s letting me know that the Gates of Hell have not and will not prevail against the Church. It’s telling me that regardless of what comes against the Church, that it will always be brought back from the brink.

I am strengthened in knowing that Pope Benedict and the Holy See is bringing everything back into order; I am proud of the Reform of the Reform!

As to MHF in the OP; think of a shiny, precious stone, usually used to propose to an individual. 😉

Forgot to mention - the second WMD is the worst, and if you haven’t seen it yet, maybe hold off.

He’s good to listen to. His website has hundreds of hours, if not thousands, of catechesis and apologetics material. People watch his commentary videos “The Vortex”, and then judge him as being an arrogant raging American. I started my subscription with RealCatholicTV months ago and I’m still barely half way through his ‘One True Faith’ series.

Michael Voris does no such thing as saying John XXIII was corrupt. In fact, I think I will watch it again.

It would be easier for dialogue if people weren’t out to character assassinate him in the first place.

Sorry, that acryonym is not familiar to me, so I’m missing the point you wanted to make.

Ah, gotcha. Dimond Brothers. They spell it a bit differently, though. Had you said MHF Monastery, it would have saved all of this guessing. 😉
