What to pray after recieving Communion?

I offer spontaneous versions of each.

When I was teaching, after a time of silence, the kids would say the Anima Christi and a prayer for the Pope. I might take that up again. 👍

Usually when I am praying after the Eucharist I have so much to say and always run out of time and I don’t know if I am praying as I should after recieving the Lord.

I simply enjoy being in the Presence of God now because after years of going this was something I couldn’t do until current priest as allowed me to do what I do actually do and straight away its worked and I just simply enjoy being in the Presence of God and allow Him to speak to me rather than I speak to God 😃 And God does speak to me not with words but just by drawing me closer and feeling reassured God is truelly there. On Sunday I know not by a set of words but a confusing experience earlier that week been simply taken away from me and it matters no more for Gods got it and dealt with it for me. I just knew that. I don’t think like that etc. So the priest was specially thanked the way I do later that day because changing that one thing for me personally made God accessible for me at that time. In the risk of sounding american - awesome. But in the Christian meaninig of awesome I felt God so strong. So I am able to listen to God in that space rather than talk to God now because of being allowed to do what I need to - to relax.
 
Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayer that extends the offering of the Eucharist, so it is especially appropriate to use it after having received Holy Communion at Holy Mass.

I try to pray this Chaplet as soon as I get home from Mass.

Sometimes, I just pray silently. Other times, I look up Eucharistic or Communion themed prayers in my missal.
 
A few weeks ago I read about a really great preparation for receiving the Eucharist. St. Therese of Lisieux would ask the Blessed Virgin and all the saints to come into her soul so that Jesus would have a magnificent reception there…personally I LOVE this, just wanted to pass it on.

While/After receiving Communion I tell Jesus I love Him, adore Him, and if something pressing is going on in my life, possibly talk to Him about it.
 
I say something personal, thanking Jesus for condescending to be in the bread. I feel most unworthy in that moment.

She’s actually my Confirmation saint 🙂 I thought this prayer idea was brilliant…I am starting to become more devoted to her.
