I have some material to give to a woman who knows what the church teaches on contiception. she does not know why that is why im given her some stuff. But what should I tell her to do when she has already had this process done with. what if she cant afford a reversal? What should I tell her?

thanks

why is this your job, instead of her priest’s? did she ask for your (name removed by moderator)ut? is she someone who would normally rely on you for moral advice? if you don’t know the answer to the question yourself, are you the best person to be giving her the information? if you search AA this question has been answered several times and the experts will do a better job than we could.

Nice post Annie 🙂 :clapping:

Puzzleannie’s right, but just so you know, Itehs63, a sincere confession is all that is needed. No one is required to have a reversal of sterilization. Some choose to, but that, while admirable, is going above and beyond the requirement.

Regarding tubal ligation, the Church does not require a person to have their sterilization reversed. Repentance and confession are sufficient. Reversal is up to the couple.

Id didnt think it was necesary for a reversal. I know she is not gulty of sin if she did not know the Churches teaching. she was concerned about the issue because of what she had done and I did not have an answer now I do. thanks

I’m not sure you would want to say anything to her. What’s done is done. If she thinks it is a terrible sin, she will tell it in confession. If she doesn’t have a clue that it is supposed to be a sin, then I guess that she wouldn’t be guilty of anything. I would simply mind my own business. God is much more capable of handling someone’s moral problems than I am.

If she hadn’t had it done yet, then my answer would probably be different. But then, maybe she would not have asked my advice. My understanding is that the Church does not require a reversal since it is expensive, and it might not work.
