What to wear at Easter Vigil

I’m an RCIA candidate and will be accepted into the church tomorrow. 🙂 My question is, would it be appropriate to wear a black dress to the Easter Vigil? My nicest dress is long and black with white embroidery and buttons. Would it be better to wear this more formal black dress or a lighter colored skirt and blouse?

Go with something simple.

I usually do not wear a suit. Usually Dockers, Turtleneck shirt and a sweater if it is cold.

Now to hide under my rock while the clothing police go postal (especially since this year’s vigil is an EF Mass) :cool:

I would wear whatever you want to wear, as long as it’s not dockers, turtle neck and sweater… 😛

I debating myself…skirt and blouse or dress…my mom made me a new dress, it’s a light green, but really, it’s going to be colder tomorrow night and I’d have to wear a jacket or something with it, so now I’m thinking skirt, blouse and sweater…

Wear whatever makes you HAPPY! 👍

Considering the fact that the Easter Vigil traditionally begins outside in the parking lot, and the fact that it is still quite wintry, something that looks good with your overcoat would be a wise move.

Light colored would be better.
 
I agrew with the lighter color, BUT I loke th e convent/cloister symbolism: dying to an old life, rising to a new.
