The Bible, of course, can’t do without it. But after that I would try to sneak the 38 volume set of the Church Fathers as 1 book. If 38 volume sets are not allowed, I would have to choose Aquinas’ Summa Theologica. That way I could get a taste of the fathers in that one books.
