Would you like your guardian angel to appear on a weekly basis and gently chat to you about the good and bad you did during the week or an angel that would reprimand you for sinning?

I just wondered how you would want him to help you?

I’m in two mind myself.

🙂

I want the one I have. Over-worked as the poor spirit is, that angel has saved my bacon far too many times to count.

This is a neat question.

I would want the guardian angel that God thinks is best for me…which I believe is true. Thank you God and my guardian angel for loving me!

? Sorry, I don’t understand this question.

I can’t speak in terms of guardian angel hypotheticals, since I don’t hear an audible voice from mine so neither applies. But I could answer this in terms of what I do prefer, in concrete terms, from my human fellowship relationships whose voices are audible and can indeed arrange to chat with me on a weekly basis:

Gentle chat in which successes are celebrated and praise given to God for them, and errors are identified so they can be repented of and we can work out a new way forward from them.

PS If you prefer the former, there’s actually a way you can speak with God about this (through your conscience) called the Examen prayer. And it can be done on a nightly basis 🙂 Examining your actions of that day, to give thanks for the good, and identify what needs improvement.

Same. I can think of seven or eight times in my life where I could have easily died if not for my wonderful Guardian Angel. I’m so happy to have mine!

To answer the title question: I’m happy with the Guardian Angel God gave me!

Now on to more serious stuff.

First of all, God gives every person, Catholic and non-Catholic, a Guardian Angel. So you can’t trade in your Guardian Angel for another. He’s closer to you than your shadow, and he’s going to stick with you whether you want him to or not.

NO. One should NEVER wish to see one’s Guardian Angel. St. Paul, St. Ignatius of Loyola and all the masters of the spiritual life say that the Evil One can disguise himself as an angel of light.

I want him to help me the way God wants him to help me.
I’m in two mind myself.
St. James in his Epistle talks about being of two minds. I don’t remember the exact quote but it’s in there.

If through the grace and mercy of God I get to heaven, I want to thank God for my salvation, my Catholic Faith, giving me His Mother to be my mother, His foster-father to be my foster-father, all the Saints and Angels who ever prayed for me and helped me, AND my Guardian Angel.

In every instance where an Angel appeared to a person in Scripture, the first thing the Angel says is “Hey, do not be afraid of me!!”

If an angel appeared to any of us, it would be frightening. I’ve had enough frights 🙂
