What type of prayers do you pray at different times during moments of silence in mass ie., before mass begins, prayers of the faithful, after communion, etc?

It’s individual and depends on what you want to “tell” Him (or listen for). Sometimes, depending on what you’ve prayed about/listened it will be different from the time before. I would suggest that one prays a prayer of thanksgiving at least one time.

I pray this little prayer: Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

Most powerful 2 parts of the mass;
“Do this in memory of me” (when chalice and then eucharist are raised up Thats when Jesus becomes the bread, then the wine, and its when you should confidently tell God your petitions and thank Him for granting them

When the Body of Christ is raised… For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen.

When the Blood of Christ is raised… O blood and water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen.

I tend to think any prayer of thanksgiving first…in your own words…and then whatever your heart needs to say.
There are no prescribed prayers. When you are with someone you love, you don’t recite from a book. You speak from your heart. 👍

What moments of silence?

🙂
That’s just what I was thinking! I often arrive 15 to 30 minutes early to pray, but it is difficult. There are usually people talking. I gave up on staying after; just too noisy. And during Mass? No moments of silence.

I get to church about forty minutes before Mass starts. During that time I pray my Rosary and a few other prayers.

During Mass, I ask Our Lady to prepare me to receive Her Son in Holy Communion.

Mostly I just pray Ejaculatory Prayers (“My Jesus, Mercy!”, “Blood of Christ, Save us!”).

After Holy Communion, it is hard because that is the time our pastor chooses to take up either any second collection or to make announcements or to have someone else come up and say something about one thing or another to us. So I stay after for about five or ten minutes asking Our Lord to go before me during the week with His Grace and Blessings so that I will know that no matter what the week brings, He has been there before me. I pray for special intentions and all those who have asked me to pray for them, and I remember the souls in Purgatory as well.

Hope this helps give you some idea! 🙂

Just as during Eucharistic Adoration we are silent, there are purposefully built in moments of silence: after the first reading and before the Lector proclaims “The Word of the Lord!”, at the end of the Psalms and before the Cantor begins the Alleluia, etc. These brief moments are not meant for us to pray to God so much as for us to reflect on His Word that was just read or sung. A good way to look at silence is the emptying of ourselves so that the Holy Spirit can fill us. If we fill our minds with prayer, we impede God filling us with His Presence so we can better understand the readings and Gospel passage. Each Mass has a unique message for each participant (notice I didn’t say “attendee” - Catholics are called to PARTICIPATE fully in the Mass!) so each participant should quiet their minds and hearts so they can discern what it is God is trying to tell them.

Before the Mass, I like to prepare myself the receive Him. Even though I may have confessed and received Absolution for my sins, I give Him thanks for being a loving God and for the blessings He has and will bestow upon me and my family. I pray for mercy for my sins and that He overlook my unworthiness. And I ask for help or intercessions for others.

Have a Blessed Lent!

During the penitential rite….“Let us now acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate these sacred mysteries.” I pray the Act of Contrition my dad did the same and I am not certain if it is correct to do so but, he was and still is the best example of the Catholic man.

I pray the Act of Contrition after the “Behold the Lamb of God…”, just before I go up for Communion. In the time after Communion I pray the Anima Christe.
