What verb do you use to describe going to Mass?

Going to church or going to mass. But I do like the phrase assisting at mass.
 
When I was young it was always “hearing Mass.” Nowadays it’s “going to Mass” or going to church although sometimes (to my surprise!) I catch myself saying “hearing Mass.” 😀

RandomAlias: That’s how I understand it as well. We are celebrating Mass together, thus all are celebrants, with the priest, the Presider, officiating. However, some old-timer priests prefer the reference to them as Celebrant and not Presider. In our announcements, we introduce the priest as “Our presider…” Six of one…
 
He did all: he served Mass, he attended Mass, he assisted Mass, he heard Mass, he went (going) to Mass, and he went to Church.
