Okay, it really depends where you are in your faith journey.
From what I gathered from information you have given in another thread that you started on this forum, you’re a non-baptized 14-year-old looking to join the Catholic Church but have the problem that your parents are not really fond of the Catholic Church.
With that being your current status in your faith journey, I would recommend you find an easy-to-understand Catholic Bible with good introductions and study notes, written in modern English.
The said, I would recommend any of the following Bibles:
The Catholic Youth Bible from St. Mary’s Press (either the 3rd or the brand-new 4th Edition). It uses the New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) translation with copious notes and commentary geared to teenagers.
LIVE - NRSV Catholic Edition: Youth Bible, Catholic Edition from Harper Collins. This is another youth Bible geared to teenagers but it uses the New Revised Standard Version - Catholic Edition (NRSV-CE) translation of the Bible.
The Little Rock Catholic Study Bible from Little Rock Scripture Study. This is an excellent, easy to understand Catholic Study Bible that uses the New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) translation. It’s suitable for anyone your age and older.
The Didache Bible from the Midwest Theological Forum. It comes in two editions: the
Ignatius Bible Edition that uses the Revised Standard Version - 2nd Catholic Edition (RSV-2CE) translation, and the
NABRE Edition that uses the New American Bible Revised Edition translation. Either edition would be fine. This is an excellent Study Bible with excellent footnotes and commentary based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Catholic Holy Bible NLT Reader’s Edition from Tyndale House. This is one of the newest English translation of the Bible for Catholics and uses the modern and very easy to understand New Living Translation - Catholic Edition (NLT-CE) of the Bible. It’s very readable and contains excellent traditional introductions to every book of the Bible. And if you parents are non-Catholic Christians, it’s a translation that they might already be familiar with since the New Living Translation of the Bible is very popular among good number of non-Catholic Christians. It’s also the most affordable of the Bibles that I’ve recommended. The hardcover edition only costs $12.49 on Amazon.
Any of the five Bibles I’ve recommended above would be excellent versions of the Bible for you to own and read.
