St. Dymphna.
Wow - same. I’ve never met anyone with that given name, but it’s used fairly often for confirmation.St Dymphna.
Hi Sy Noe,David. Being merely the age of 10 at the time, I was just intrigued, I guess, by the David and Goliath story. A mighty giant vs a sling shot. I wouldn’t recommend confirmation at such a young age though and it seems to me the Catholic Church today no longer confirms at such a young age. .
Hi, interesting to know that about the Eastern rites and that children are still confirmed in the Roman rite. I guess because at the last Confirmation Mass I attended a few years back, the candidates all appeared to be in their midteen high school yrs, I wrongly assumed the Roman rite now only confirmed teens and older. Thank you and may God bless you as well.Hi Sy Noe,
Our Eastern Catholic brothers and sisters have Confirmation (Chrismation) with Baptism and First Holy Communion. I have Roman Catholic friends who were confirmed as children, or who have children who were recently confirmed when they entered the Church. In these cases, the priest preparing them for entry ensured that they were ready for the sacraments: Baptism, First holy Communion, and Confirmation.
I was confirmed as an adult and chose Saint Therese as my confirmation saint. I relate to the way she finds God in the little things.
May God bless you and all who visit this thread.
Amen.
