For my Father-Bride dance we danced to Turn! Turn! Turn! by the Byrds… (quoting one of my favorite pieces of scripture! 😉 )
A few years ago, on our anniversary (30+ years), DH and I had front row seats to see Roger McGuinn, and we sang along with him when he did that one – so that song has special meaning for us.

I chose that passage from Ecclesiastes to read at his father’s funeral last October for that reason, and when I looked at him from the lectern, he was wiping his eyes.

Our first dance was to the song “It Had to be You”, sung by Harry Connick Jr.

Harry Connick Jr - It Had To Be You Lyrics

It had to be you, it had to be you,
I wandered around an’ finally found
Somebody who
Could make me be true
Could make me be blue
And even be glad, just to be sad, thinkin’ of you,
Some others I’ve seen
Might never be mean
Might never be cross, or try to be boss,
But they wouldn’t do
For nobody else gave me a thrill,
With all your faults, I love you still,
It had to be you, wonderful you, it had to be you!

instrumental verse

Some others I’ve seen
Might never be mean
Might never be cross, or try to be boss,
But they wouldn’t do
Nobody else gave me a thrill,
With all your faults, I love you still,
It had to be you, wonderful you, it had to be you!
It just had to be you!
