Eric, the video you linked cites disobedient persons who are in grave danger of going to hell unless they repent. I highly suggest you do not give your ear to them, but rather to the Church of whom Jesus said, “he who rejects you, rejects me.”

How do you know? I did not see SSPX or sede vacanist on the video.
And besides if it were, I think it speaks the truth.

It’s interesting that the video series starts of quoting the non-existent papal coronation oath.

Sewage? how so?
From what I listened to it’s not accurate. It’s horribly negative. Talk about the work of Satan!

If I found out down the road that this was the work of some anti-Catholic group I wouldn’t be surprised in the least. Just feed them a pile of lies, get them agitated, create internal discontent until they get disgusted enough to leave and hopefully join us.

One would have to be fairly ignorant of the faith – and either very gullible or angry to buy into this nonsense.

Well thats the first I heard of that.
The Remnant is disobedient to the Church and has encouraged disobedience to the Church. The Remnant has slandered Pope John Paul II on multiple occassions… etc. etc. etc.

Pope Paul VI said that Satan had crept into the church after the council.
And regardless of who created the video I think many a Catholic in communion with the Pope would agree on the many points of the video. Especially on church architecture.

Eric,

Unfortunately, it does not speak the truth. There are numerous inaccuracies and perhaps even deliberate deception. Some examples: The video claims that the anointings before and after Baptism were removed in the New Rite; they are still present. Private, auricular confession is still alive and well. Confirmation still involves the laying on of hands and anointing with chrism. I could go on. If God gave St. Peter and his successors the right to bind and to loosen, then we have to accept the pope’s authority to regulate the Sacraments. Pope John Paul II said that some elements of the Sacraments were instituted by Christ Himself and could not be changed by the Church: the reservation of Ordination to men alone, the use of bread, and wine made from grapes, for the Mass, and so on. However, the forms that were not imposed exactly by Christ when He instituted the Sacraments may be regulated by the Church; this accounts for the variety of wording among the various Eastern and Western rites of the Church, all of which are valid. We are free to have opinions about which forms are the most beautiful, and which we prefer to attend, but not about which of the Catholic rites is valid! The road to reform suggested is disobedience, and our Lord was obedient, even unto death. We do have the MP… Please consider these points.

God bless,

Fr. Boyd

Have you read the late Holy Father’s words in context? The Council itself is not to blame for the troubles of the era. Indeed, more than one council has been followed by turbulence (take a look at the history of Vatican I, a Council which also raised the ire of dissenters). To blame the council itself is a fallacious application of cause and effect (i.e. A happened, then B happened, so A must have caused B).

I suggest you check out Jimmy Akin’s analysis of Pope Paul VI’s homily here.

I think this was a good documentary and I suggest everyone watch it.
I saw this video over 10 years ago. I believe it was actually sent to Rome to be viewed by the Pope. These events may have actually happened but I thought the video was a bit too overdramatized. The video makers made their points in the first two minutes, don’t know why they needed to resort to ridicule for a full hour.

I only recall my daughter being anointed once during hers.
Private, auricular confession is still alive and well.
depends which church you go to. I have been to church’s where all they would offer is face to face in the pews.

nobody laid hands on me during my confirmation. and how about the words of confirmation? Why did they need to change?

Really? then explain what Pius V said about the mass?
Pope John Paul II said that some elements of the Sacraments were instituted by Christ Himself and could not be changed by the Church: the reservation of Ordination to men alone, the use of bread, and wine made from grapes, for the Mass, and so on.
yet we have priests who consecrate cookies, pizza and grape soda. Is that really allowed? These may be isolated cases but it still happens and should not happen.
However, the forms that were not imposed exactly by Christ when He instituted the Sacraments may be regulated by the Church; this accounts for the variety of wording among the various Eastern and Western rites of the Church, all of which are valid.
then why did we abandon the consecration of the wine from the cannon?
We are free to have opinions about which forms are the most beautiful, and which we prefer to attend, but not about which of the Catholic rites is valid!
I NEVER said they were NOT VALID! DO NOT PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH!
The road to reform suggested is disobedience, and our Lord was obedient, even unto death. We do have the MP… Please consider these points.
God bless,
So then tell me why vatican II is used as a reason to destroy church architecture? How about the religious? You hardly see them where habits out in public anymore? The problem goes beyond the sacraments.
