What week are we in for Liturgy of The Hours?
I think you mean subtract instead of divide. Here’s a trick so you always know which week we are in: What is the number of the Sunday? We are in week 8. Divide by 4. The remainder is the week we are in. “Zero” means we are in week 4.
Try it: Last week was week 7 of ordinary time: Divide by 4; you have 3 left over. Week 3.
No. I meant divide. Week 23 of ordinary time: Divide by 4. 3 left over: week 3.I think you mean subtract instead of divide.
Of course come wed its a whole new ballgane
Ash Wednesday always uses Week IV, regardless of what week the last Sunday started (Friday Week III may also be used for Ash Wednesday). Thursday, Friday, and Saturday following Ash Wednesday are also taken from Week IV (of course, with the appropriate parts from the proper of Seasons). Then come the first Sunday of Lent, we start with Sunday Week I, with proper parts.Wednesday would be under Ash Wednesday, which incidentally begins Lent so it should be Week 1. It goes back to Week 1 every time the liturgical season changes, regardless of which week it was in the season that just finished (except for Ordinary Time, which resumes where it left off… sorta).
But I could be wrong. This will be my first time doing the Divine Office during Lent (I started on Easter last year).
