Hopefully this will turn into a fun thread for moms.

Here are some of the cravings I’ve experienced so far (Baby is five months old):
root beer float
spaghetti (rotini with Prego sauce)
peanut butter & jelly sandwich
some of Dad’s delicious fettucine alfredo (unfortunately he’s 3.5 hours away so I can only taste his food when DH and I visit)
Runzas (you have to be from NE, USA to know what I’m talking about)

my Mother my Confidence,
Corinne

When my mom was pregnant with my younger sister, for some reason she craved reuben sandwiches…normally she hates reubens!

With my son I craved baked potatoes with LOTS of butter and sour cream. Actually, the baked potato was just a vessel for the butter and sour cream. 😃

With my daughter it was Mexican food. Normally, I can take it or leave it. But when I was pregnant I would beg every one at work to go out for Mexican food. I knew I would get heartburn but I didn’t care. 😃

About a month ago I craved Taco John’s softshell ground beef tacos. DH and I have no income so eating out is a treat. Finally DH took us out to eat: we got 2 tacos from TJ’s drive through and we ate at Long John Silver’s, where he applied for a job. Yummy…

Lime Sherbert eaten, not with a spoon, but with Oreo cookies!

:o

BTW… Runzas rock

I wonder how many of our cravings are really nutritious (body telling us it needs these nutrients, that sort of thing) and how many are a result of our sweet tooth yelling at our brain too much.

I craved Tony Packo’s Pickles and Peppers (a Toledo, Ohio, product) with a tall glass of ice-cold milk.

Still eat that, and so does my son (with whom I was pregnant)!

Hmm. Maybe if I eat lots of vegetables, Baby won’t be one of those kids who hates eating vegetables. I’ll be eating peas for one of my afternoon snacks today. Thanks for the idea!

I haven’t really had any yet, except for a Rita’s Italian Ice, but I’m prone to cravings, pregnant or not. 😛

When my mom was pregnant with me, she couldn’t stand pizza and ate everything orange, especially those little oragne jelly chews.

During my pregnancies (in the 60’s) I developed a really weird craving for chocolate Whip&Chill (it’s not made anymore) and cucumbers. Yes, together.

Whip 'n Chill is STILL MADE, so you can have a flashback! Vermont Country Store carries it:

Whip 'n Chill!

Hey, my sister used to eat those with peanut butter on a sandwich.
We also like miraclewhip, lettuce and peanut butter sandwiches.
And rhubarb/strawberry pie.

My husband would tell you it was biting his head off 😛

I certainly don’t recalling being unusually cranky but he swears by it!
Other than that, I didn’t have cravings.
I did have a serious aversion to the smell of coffee though for the first pregnancy.
The second was a cake walk all the way through.

During my sister’s 2nd pregnancy, she craved rubberbands(she just had to chew on them).

She also could not tolerate the smell of ground beef cooking. I think I developed the same aversion out of sympathy.

One of my pregnancies I craved beer and lobster. Hate them both. Didn’t have either one.
