Pardon my naivete here - I’ve not been following SSPX too closely lately until I read some posts here - but now that I’m reading posts about possible good news re SSPX, etc., will someone please clarify - if it has been made public anyway, what the “five points” were?
Also, how does this work? If there were excommunications, how can they be “lifted”? I can’t believe I’m so uneducated on this matter, which I’m sure I was taught about. Does that mean any ordinations that were invalid before - would now be valid? Any marriages, or other priestly-necessitated sacraments - that were once considered invalid by reason of “excommunication” would now be valid? Would really appreciate someone filling us in on this. (I’m getting confused on it all - I must be getting old.
) Many thanks.
