By a whole group, do you mean “gay” activists? Do they not function as one unified organization?
No, they don’t.

The pictures of Vatican flags buring has white people in it. Equating all. “Gay activists” with the flag burners makes as much sense as equating all white people with the flag burners.

There are plenty of white people who have denounced these kind of lewd “gay” activist protests. But I’ve never seen any other “gay” activist group publicly denounce it when a “gay” activist group organizes a lewd and naked protest at the Vatican. Have you? 🙂

Irrelevant. Not all “gay activists” belong to groups.

Some certainly does. I think the problem is in lumping a whole group of people together, because not everyone fits within the mold that you want to put them in.
thank you…the painting with a broad brush…in the name of being right or/eh righteous. 🤷

17 thread titles appear on my screen under Social Justice. 9 of those are on the topic of homosexuality. How much fraternal correction is actually going on, or needed, and on a Catholic forum? :hmmm:

The subject is in your face everywhere. When you go to the grocery store the magazine covers show two men kissing at one check out and two women kissing on the cover of another magazine at the other check out. There seems to be one obviously “gay” character on every TV show. Every day in the news there is some kind of news story that is supposed to get us to accept their behavior as “the new normal”. That’s why it’s necessary for us to talk about it here. And it’s good for there to be a few counter threads for the ones posted by all the hit and run “gay” activists who come with the single-minded purpose of trying to get pity and acceptance for some form of homosexual relationship they say they are in. They aren’t satisfied with the Church’s teaching of “love the sinner but hate the sin”. They want to convince us that they are right and that the Catholic Church is wrong. But the ugly side of the “gay” agenda needs to be exposed. 🙂

The Church teaches acceptance with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. I’d be careful how I proceeded with ‘exposing.’ As I’ve said, a couple of times, we can deliver truth, without it being compromised, several ways. If we use the wrong way, we could entrench someone in the error of their way. That means culpability. You catch more flies with honey…
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Wait a minute. Didn’t you just judge me by suggesting that I committed a sin because you believe I had harshly judged others? Isn’t your judgment of me a bit harsh? If you think I committed a sin please quote what I said that you think is actually culpable. Are you saying that to respect them we have to ignore things such as that naked protests happen at the Vatican and not let others know that this kind of thing happens within the “gay” activist movement? What if someone goes to the Vatican on a pilgrimage with their family and this kind of thing happens while they are there with their kids? Are they all supposed to pretend that it’s not happening? 🙂

BTW, did I miss your response to the requests that you dentify the one unified organization you claimed the gay activists have?

Agree.

Most have been started by new joins…who then often don’t carry theconversationforward.

Drive bys.

I do not think Westboro Baptists and gay activists are similar at all. For one thing, gay activists generally do not claim to act in the name of a loving, merciful and just God. By claiming the title of Christian, Westboro Baptists do claim to act in God’s name, and yet they do not exhibit God’s character in their actions. They slander God by acting in his name without love. Gay activists do not claim to see or speak in God’s name, so their sin is is less. But since Westboro Baptists do claim to see, their sin remains.

There may be various “gay” activists groups of different names, but they are all one and unified in who they agree is their common enemy. 🙂

I don’t know what check out stands you have been to at the grocery store, but I have never seen a magazine at the check out with two men or two women kissing. As for the TV shows…I have heard that art imitates life. However, TV didn’t seem seem to reveal that in the 50’s and 60’s, because all the evening shows had white people in them. Everyone looked like Mrs. Cleaver and Donna Reed. I thought it was strange, because my mother never wore high heels or pearls when she cleaned the house, and my dad never came home from the office in a suit and tie with a briefcase. As far as the hit and run gay activists…how do you know they aren’t satisfied with the Church’s teaching “love the sinner hate the sin”? Have you been hiding your crystal ball or taken an extensive study of mental telepathy? The US of A is not the Catholic Church. The rules and regs that govern our country are for “everyone”, not just Catholics. The Church will not change, we all get that. We have this ability to change the channel on the TV, take the TV out of the house, get rid of the computer, “boycott” this and that in order to make a point. If indeed there are folks with SSA, I doubt they want pity. Acceptance of the “lifestyle”? It is what is. It more of accept them as a human beings, children of God, just like you. No one is perfect. You can recite canon law backwards and forwards, earn a degree in it, roll around in sack cloth and ashes for the cause…whatever, you are still not perfect, never will be. This is how some posters come across when they title threads such as this one. :twocents:

I don’t agree with that. There are a lot of politicians who have come out in support of so-called “gay marriage” who claim to be Christian and who even claim (blasphemously) that God wants this. By the way, a “gay activist” can be a homosexual or a heterosexual.

I do not think the actions you mentioned above should be ignored, but neither should they be made into something which inspires enmity and bears false witness before God. Our focus should not be on the actions of the activists as much as on our own actions. We should take care not to allow the disdain of others to become an excuse for our own disdain. God needs no defending. I believe it was the Holy Father who recently said that if anyone acts believing that he is defending God, then he is worshiping an idol.

How is telling people what happened bearing false witness? There’s enough promotion of the “gay lifestyle” as “the new normal” going on that I think seeing some of the ugly side of the “gay” agenda acts as a balance. 🙂

In other words, your original allegation of one unified organization was in error. Thank you.
