Dear John

Yes it has had a profound effect on me.

.

I didn’t see it as a sign of predestination either as I can still sin and cause myself to be seperated from God. I saw it as a gift to straighten my life up and serve Him and others better.

Hi Teresa,
What I meant by predestination is as below. From the new Catholic dictionary.
Book of Life

Figurative expression in Holy Writ (Apocalypse 21) for predestination, which signifies God’s foreknowledge of the elect. It is plain that God by virtue of His omniscience must infallibly know the number of the elect and the lost, which, however, does not imply that the fate of either the elect or the damned is sealed by God without prevision of each individual’s merit. Damnation is in no way forewilled, but merely foreknown by God. See predestination.

Sorry for any confusion. The dictionary link is below, too.

Dear John

Hey no need for apologies with me, no egg shells to tread on with me; I like a spade to be called a spade and a shovel to be called a shovel. Truth is truth.

What does this mean then I am keen to know what it does mean? Just because this happened to me doesn’t mean I understand all of it.

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

Hi again,
I am not a mystic like St Padre Pio. So, I can’t tell you why this happenned. But when something like this happens, it’s usually a sign that our Lord has chosen you to be one of His close friends. He is calling you into a deeper relationship with Him. It also obligates the recipient to respond likewise. Once our Lord has been very close to you, and intimate in this way. One should feel very grateful and humble that the all powerful God would stoop down to our level and treat one as such a close friend.
It’s a sign of predestination ( but one must not be presumptuos, as one can still be lost) as previously mentioned.
