What would a anglican priest do in case of demonic possession?

Dittoes.
I read it otherwise. It’s not a clear cut victory for the Anglican diocese, over the TEC rump, but it bodes well for the next go-around, setting the dispute in the commonly accepted parameters of property law.

At least, that’s how I saw it.

I never read much about the Dennis Canon actually. Not my area of expertise. I read a bit about it online recently; sounds like just a cheesy attempt to make the property all belong to TEC and nationalize the church when it was never intended to be a national church at all but rather as it was called “Episcopal” in nature, having bishops as chiefs of the diocesan kingdoms with no bishop laying claim over another and no archbishop, yada yada. The TEC was never meant to be national, just national in fellowship and unity of common brotherhood, not hierarchical in any way. This Dennis Canon came out in the late 70’s so it almost sounds like it was an attempt to seize back property from continuing Anglican rebels who left?
Which, if the word gets out around the country, is going to put an end to the gracious Katherine’s empire building. Dennis Canon, pfui.

Ok, re-read the article…it does bode well for the parishes. But as in court cases, hard to see what the judge will rule ultimately…then the appeals…this could drag on for anther year…

TEC revenues are down not only from all their constant $$$ blown on litigation but also because their attendance numbers are down!

Liberals always crack me up. They think by letting people NOT have to believe in things and to give a blank check theology to folks somehow that’ll attract more people to the pews on Sunday. Bottom line to me is: why should an atheist go to church on Sunday? 🤷😛

Gurney speaks the truth.

Dennis Canon= “All your base are belong to us”.

Well, this thread couldn’t swerve much more off topic, unless the topic of baseball comes up, which gurney I’m sure would be thrilled to discuss. 😛

But regarding the OP, and Lapey’s comment about the Lutheran pastor deferring to the Catholic priest, two links of interest:

and perhaps why the Lutheran pastor had no experience:

Hi, Jon…so you noticed how far off topic we are…😃

i went through the link on the Lutheran views of demonic possession…I will say the view is quite different from the CC. Not to gloat…but the CC has had 2000 years of experience with, and maybe more, if you include the time before Christ’s birth.

Here is a book recommendation, if interested: The Rite by Matt Baglio. I just read it is being turned into a movie. It describes the rite of exorcism, different types of possession and obsession…has actual accounts of exorcism based on the author’s participation in some exorcisms.

I’m not saying a word! My Giants are champs and I’m a happy camper. No more analysis from yours truly…🙂
