What would be appropriate to wear?

I’ve attempted to follow the biretta use threads but have conflicted answers.

If I am a Permanent Deacon with a Masters in Theology but also a Doctorate in Medicine,
would I wear a black or other pom or not as a Deacon? It appears to be determined whether one goes by liturgical or academic credentials.
 
Dear Deacon,

I suggest that you check with your diocese about what to wear as a deacon. This can vary from diocese to diocese. For academic and medical work-wear, check with those superiors.
