Not everyone know what the “tasks” are though? It is not clear for everyone.
The employee first needs to be absolutely clear who his Boss is.

I do not believe that most of the "employees’’ in the world know for sure who their real Boss is.

In the parable of the talents in Matthew 25 the servant that gets treated harshly is the one that took the masters money and buried it and did nothing with it. He didn’t even try. He didn’t even display it proudly as something he received from the Master even though he didn’t know what to do with it.

To not even try to do the will of God is far worse than hearing Him incorrectly.

In following any religion there is a feed back loop of self checking that is supposed to draw the adherent closer to hearing God. To follow nothing allows for no correction to take place.
How does an atheist do the will of God if he doesnt believe He exists?

You are just speaking from your own Christian perspective.

Has it ever occurred to you that, although an atheist may be wrong, they believe they are following the “truth”. Just like you believe you are.

While some of us Christians are hypocrites and fear hell more than we love God, some non-believers may be leading better charitable lives than us? Some people read the bible but do nothing, while some don’t read the bible but are in third world countries feeding the poor.

Then flying a plane into a skyscraper and killing thousands of innocent people because you try to do the will of God is better than just doing nothing? Interesting reasoning.

How do we do that? By believing the local imam?

Flying planes into buildings is NOT part of religion. People may have done so out of religious feelings or reasons, but the act is in no way a religious one.

They believed it was what God wanted. That’s the thing.

Of course, they were wrong though.

Of course I am speaking from my perspective, it’s mine to speak. It was even asked for in the OP.

The real Boss is the One who has created and is sustaining the Earth that we live in and the water that we drink and the air that we breathe.

The real Boss is the One who gives life to all the plants and animals that we eat as food.

Can someone who needed to eat and drink while he was in the world be the real Boss?

Do you see the dilemma? You believe following what your religion says is right. And I believe following what my religion syas is right?

Both claim that their religions were founded by God.

On top of that, an atheist believes following his way is right.

Can an agent of God be one who slept with a 9 year old?

You started it.
Firstly, according to the Bible, is it morally wrong to marry a young girl who has not only agreed to but also has had her marriage consented to by her own parents?

If you say YES, then kindly quote the Biblical verses which prohibit this.

Secondly, there are to be found differing accounts which point towards her being considerably older at the time of her marriage.

How then are you so sure that she was 9-years old at the time?

I can hardly imagine anyone following a path one is convinced to be wrong. Or having an opinion one thinks is wrong.

Would you allow your 9 yr old daughter to be married to a 40 or 50yr old man?

Why would the greatest prophet in the world want to marry a child?

For all we know he could have forced the parents of the child to agree. Also, it would be hard for parents to reject “the prophet”. They probably assumed he was a perfectly moral man since they believed him to be the “greatest” prophet.

Hamba2han,
Aisha was six or seven years old when betrothed to Muhammad. She stayed in her parents’ home until the age of nine, when the marriage was consummated.

The article also says
After the wedding, Aisha continued to play with her toys, and Muhammad entered into the spirit of these games.
Poor child. This man cannot be a prophet of God. No way.

Do you still believe Mohammed is the way to God?

Hamba2han,

Whether you believe Jesus is a prophet or Son of God, He did not allow or condone an individual having multiple wives at the same time.

How come Muhammed contradicted Jesus’ teaching? Muslims believe the prophets complimented each other, right? So why was Muhammed teaching something opposite to Jesus?

Jesus didnt even support divorce:

Mark 5:
5"It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied. 6"But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a] 7’For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,** 8and the two will become one flesh.’[c] So they are no longer two, but one. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
10When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”**

As I have mentioned, there are to be found differing accounts on how old Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) was when she married the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the following are just a few of these varying accounts:

1. According to a number of narratives, Ayesha (ra) accompanied the Muslims in the battle of Badr and Uhud. Furthermore, it is also reported in books of hadith and history that no one under the age of 15 years was allowed to take part in the battle of Uhud. All the boys below 15 years of age were sent back. Ayesha’s (ra) participation in the battle of Badr and Uhud clearly indicates that she was not nine or ten years old at that time. After all, women used to accompany men to the battlefields to help them, not to be a burden upon them.
  1. According to almost all the historians Asma (ra), the elder sister of Ayesha (ra) was ten years older than Ayesha (ra). It is reported in Taqreeb al-Tehzeeb as well as Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah that Asma (ra) died in the 73rd year after hijrah[2] when she was 100 years old. Now, obviously if Asma (ra) was 100 years old in the 73rd year after hijrah, she should have been 27 or 28 years old at the time of hijrah. If Asma (ra) was 27 or 28 years old at the time of hijrah, Ayesha (ra) should have been 17 or 18 years old at that time. Thus, Ayesha (ra) - if she got married in 1 AH (after hijrah) or 2 AH - was between 18 to 20 years old at the time of her marriage.
  2. Tabari in his treatise on Islamic history, while mentioning Abu Bakr (ra) reports that Abu Bakr had four children and all four were born during the Jahiliyyah - the pre Islamic period. Obviously, if Ayesha (ra) was born in the period of jahiliyyah, she could not have been less than 14 years in 1 AH - the time she most likely got married.
  3. According to Ibn Hisham, the historian, Ayesha (ra) accepted Islam quite some time before Umar ibn Khattab (ra). This shows that Ayesha (ra) accepted Islam during the first year of Islam. While, if the narrative of Ayesha’s (ra) marriage at seven years of age is held to be true, Ayesha (ra) should not even have been born during the first year of Islam.
  4. According to Ibn Hajar, Fatimah (ra) was five years older than Ayesha (ra). Fatimah (ra) is reported to have been born when the Prophet (pbuh) was 35 years old. Thus, even if this information is taken to be correct, Ayesha (ra) could by no means be less than 14 years old at the time of hijrah, and 15 or 16 years old at the time of her marriage.
For those who are insisting that she was 9-years old at the time of her marriage to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), pray tell what exactly is it that makes you so sure that the above accounts are less reliable and accurate?

I posted this from an Islamic site on another thread:

**The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) after he married Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allaah be pleased with her). She – ‘Aa’ishah – was the only virgin whom he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married. And he consummated the marriage with her when she was nine years old. **

Every religion (with the exception of Pastafarianism and cults) has some valid elements. But spirituality (loving, respecting, and wanting to be friends with God) is more important then actual religion. So it depends which helps you thrive spiritually.

Polygamy

There is no record of Prophet Jesus (pbuh) opposing polygamy. If he did so, it would have meant that the condemned the practice of the prophets before him. There are a number of examples of polygamous marriages among the prophets recorded in the Torah. Prophet Abraham had two wives, according to Genesis 16:13:** “So after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife.”** So Prophet David, according to the first book of Samuel 27:3, “And David dwelt with Achish at Gat, he and his men, every man with his household, and David with his two wives, Ahin’o-am of Jezreel, and Abigail of Carmel, Nabal’s widow.”

In 1st Kings 11:3, Solomon is said to have “…had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines.” Solomon’s son, Rehobo’am, also had a number of wives, according to 2nd Chronicles 11:21,** “Rehobo’am loved Ma’acah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and concubines (he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and had twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters).”**

In fact, the Torah even specified laws regarding the division of inheritance in polygamous circumstances. In Deuteronomy 21:15-16, the law states: “15 If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other disliked, and they have borne him children, both the loved and the disliked, and if the first-born son is hers that is disliked, 16then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the first-born in preference to the son of the disliked, who is the first-born.”

The only restriction on polygamy was the ban on taking a wife’s sister as a rival wife in Leviticus 18:18, “And you shall not take a woman as a rival wife to her sister, uncovering her nakedness while her sister is yet alive.” The Talmud advises a maximum of four wives as was the practice of Prophet Jacob.

According to Father Eugene Hillman, “Nowhere in the New Testament is there any explicit commandment that marriage should be monogamous or any explicit commandment forbidding polygamy.” He further stressed the fact that the Church in Rome banned polygamy in order to conform to Graeco-Roman culture which prescribed only one legal wife while tolerating concubinage and prostitution.

Islam limited polygamy to a maximum of four wives at one time and stipulated the maintenance of justice as a basic condition for polygamy. In Chapter an-Nisaa (4):3, God states:

} فَانْكِحُواْ مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَى وَثُلاَثَ وَرُبَاعَ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ فَوَاحِدَةً … {

“Marry of the women that please you two, three or four. But if you fear that you will not be able to deal justly, then [marry only] one …”

And so, Muslims follow Prophet Jesus (pbuh) in not opposing polygamy.
