We’d all go to hell. There would be no salvation.
it is truly disturbing that you believe this. this is actually false, because we know that Moses and Elijah are in heaven, and neither of them were around when Jesus was on Earth. i am sure God, in His infinite wisdom, would have accounted for Mary’s possible “no” and have had some “backup plan”. He is love, and He does desire ALL people to get to heaven to be with Him (even if some reject Him), and to think that He would allow ALL people to go to Hell is a little twisted.

If Mary had said no, then God would have found someone else. But we would not know this. Maybe there were others who had said ‘no.’

It would be impossible. While Mary has free will just like the rest of us and could have said no, she wouldn’t have since God already knew she would be obedient before He asked her. He wouldn’t have asked someone who would have said no, nor would he have preserved one from Original Sin who would have said no.

This is kind of an interesting question but also kind of silly. If she had said “No”, God is God and would have found another jewish girl. We can not prevent the will of God for man kind we can only prevent the will of God in our life. We can say no to God and he wont use us, he will move on and find someone else to do his will. Perhaps all that would have changed is instead of people arguing over Mary they would be arguing over Esther.

Lucifer said no…and God created him …he was above all of the others, so does this mean that God knew Lucifer would disobey?..God didn’t make Lucifer bad, he was made good like Mary was

Does this mean Mary could have said no ,like Lucifer did?

I would say she could have. But she didn’t. So unlike Lucifer she was humble and put God ahead of herself.

Again, Mary had free will.

But she was also “…full of Grace…” from her conception.

Saying know was an option… but an impossible option given her state of grace. Sounds confusing, maybe… but we need to remember that she is God’s masterpiece, unique among us all.

Do you really think he would have a back up plan. If he had to have one, this would deny his omniscience.

Actually, all but two people in the Old Testament went to Hell. But because Jesus’ sacrifice trancends time, they were indeed saved, and were in a part of hell referred to as “Abraham’s Bosom”, which can be seen as a waiting room for heaven.

but you are missing the point. God desires for us to be WITH Him, not in some other place (Abraham’s Bosom or Hell or elsewhere). If Mary said no, then that would have been part of the plan because, as we know, God is outside of time and can see all of time at once. so if Mary said no, God would have had some other way to bring us to Him. to think that if Mary said no, everyone would be excluded from heaven is just wrong. saying everyone would go to hell is saying God has no mercy or justice or love.

It is also saying that Mary is more powerful than God.

She could have said no, in virtue of her free will, but she conformed her will to God’s will, cooperating in our redeption in a singular way.

Mary’s choice was according to Divine providence. God did not have a “backup plan”. This was the only way he was ever going to do it, and Mary’s assent was necessary. This doesn’t make Mary more powerful than God - it simply acknowledges her essential role in redemption.

Mary could have said no, but God knew that she wouldn’t, which is why he made her the Immaculate Conception because He knew she would be obedient, so He prepared for it ahead of time. There is a big difference between God knowing how something will turn out (He knows everything) and making it that way. He still created both Lucifer and Mary with free will. Lucifer is the perfect example of disobedience to God, and Mary is the perfect example of obedience to God.
