Indeed. It is a tragic fact that the world is dominated by financial interests. We have become the slaves of our own invention:
Judging by the way most atheists on this forum attack theism they’re not agnostics in any sense of the term but militant atheists…An agnostic atheist is a person who denies the existence of religious personal gods and consider religions to be made up mythologies but doesn’t deny the possible existence of a creator or creators to this universe.
Most atheists are agnostic atheists and it’s not an oxymoron, on the contrary it goes together and makes the most sense, it’s just someone who realized that religious personal gods and religions are human made inventions and lies, therefore surely denies these god’s existence for some reasons, therefore he is atheist.
But can’t know for sure whether there are creators for this universe, because it is beyond our ability to yet know, but most likely disbelieve in such things because no evidences of their existence but can’t fully deny it therefore he is agnostic.
An agnostic atheist is a person who disbelieve and denies the existence of the known personal religious gods and religions but can’t deny for the existence of any possible unknown gods.
I am interested in how someone would “realize” such a thing. We are talking about a personal God, that is someone with whom we can have a relationship, and thereby come to know. I can say that I realized that God exists. How would you realize that this would be an invention or a lie? At that point you are not talking about a personal God, but rather the descriptions, the ideas that are being proposed by Christians and others. Your belief then would be that this part of society’s shared wisdom and knowledge is false. An agnostic atheist is a person who denies the existence of religious personal gods and consider religions to be made up mythologies but doesn’t deny the possible existence of a creator or creators to this universe. Agnostic atheism would be a belief like all others. There can be no evidence that personal gods are human made and could not exist.. . . It’s often until you become one that you begin to understand.
I know. It’s often until you become one that you begin to understand.
You can be agnostic and criticize religions, dogmas and religious gods.Judging by the way most atheists on this forum attack theism they’re not agnostics in any sense of the term but militant atheists…
Not really. That something could be anything, not necessarily an intelligent deity. That “something” gives the game away!
Generally speaking, atheism isn’t a hypothesis, it’s the lack of a hypothesis. That is why atheism is an unverified hypothesis.
Sure, it’s unverified, but there’s really no evidence supporting any other worldview.Materialism is another unverified hypothesis. We** infer **that things other minds exist from our perceptions: our primary datum and sole certainty is our mental activity. We are all in the “egocentric predicament” whether we like it or not and our greatness consists in our power of reason. As Pascal pointed out, we know the universe exists while the universe knows nothing!
You can be scientifically agnostic of God’s existence and yet have faith in God’s existence. You can be agnostic and criticize religions, dogmas and religious gods.

How?You can be scientifically agnostic of God’s existence and yet have faith in God’s existence.

Science does not yield knowledge of God and so one can be agnostic of God’s existence epistemologically speaking, that is to say as far as science is concerned i don’t “know” that God exists. Yet, i can still have faith in the existence of God.How?
Given that “agnosticism” means that “knowledge of God’s existence is unknowable”, and given that IWantGod’s post specifically stated “scientifically agnostic”, it’s very possible to believe that there’s no scientific evidence to definitively prove/disprove God’s existence, yet believe through faith that God is real. How?
Sorry, didn’t see that you had already posted!Science does not yield knowledge of God and so one can be agnostic of God’s existence epistemologically speaking, that is to say as far as science is concerned i don’t “know” that God exists. Yet, i can still have faith in the existence of God.
