I see you are from London. Do you know the history of the United States and religious freedom from the Church of England? This guys was a Puritan who left England.

Hmm, was it the church of England (run by the Queen) that persecuted you guys out of our country and back to your own? 🤷

I haven’t got a clue but I know about the British Anglicans acttacking the Irish Catholics?

I guess my point really is about how American Christianity was not founded on the Catholic Faith. I believe America has had only one Catholic President.

How about Adam and Eve, marriage, then NT Jesus united to his church= Marriage. How about those 2.

How about forgiveness of sins= confession?

Lets start with those 3 sound familiar.

Do you know exactly what a sacrament is Adam?

We have no sacraments at our methodist church.

From my perspective, the sacraments of communion and baptism are means of sanctifying grace… which helps me in my Christian life. It is important to understand that I believe in justification by faith alone through imputation (forensic justification).

I believe in Remnant theology; therefore, God’s remnant began before the foundations of the world (Ephesians 1). It includes the elect of God found within the Old Testament too. It is much older than the Catholic view of 2,000 years old. 😉 Therefore, being Catholic or Protestant is not that big of a deal in my Remnant viewpoint, since the elect of God are found in both Protestant and Catholic Churches.

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. …you do realise that there are as many methodist denominations are there are stars in the heavens, right? The “sacraments” aren’t really sacraments in some of these churches…

Thanks for sharing that info with me. Protestansim is very difficult to discern nowdays. I believe historic confessional Protestantism is the best in regards to biblical theology and spiritual truth.

Well Adam we are not going to get into the faith alone issue. Thats for sure. But lets understand what a sacrament is.

You are correct, but the correct definition is this. A sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give Grace.

Now is marriage an outward sign ? Yep it is, does it give you Gods grace? Yep it does.

Did God give us the sacrament of marriage in the bible. Yep he did. So would you not agree that marriage is indeed a sacrament?
 
BACK to the subject of the thread…
(and away from people trying to justify if they are the REAL CHRISTIANS™ versus “you others”)

We can say love, we can say grace…

But theologically, I think that the road will be paved out if the Anglicans, Orthodox and Catholics (the most obvious candidates -I’m trying to be realistic) go back to the pre East-West schism doctrine and rituals. Is there any chance that will happen? Is there any chance they might be negotiating this behind scenes?
