There is a website for Mormons who struggle with their faith called MormonThink.

It is a very honest site that encourages Mormons having trouble to maybe stick with the faith…it deals pretty honestly with the issues in the LDS Church.

There is a page called "What Would Make the LDS Church True? Several points are mentioned.

Here are the points:

There is nothing that can make what is false, true.

I don’t know a former member of the LDS church who has not been down the road of trying to make sense of what doesn’t make sense.

In the end, I think people can only stay LDS because a) they are blissfuly ignorant, b) put a lot “on the shelf” and run on I-know-this-church-is-true and c) are cultural Mormons and just like being in the Mormon culture.

HA, I thought I was the only one that talked about “the shelf”!

He had 33 wives…!!!

And I was just reading up on Brigham Young’s wives and he had 55 of them. Double EEK!!!

I further add, I am assuming many simply do not take the time to study outside their box about traditional Christianity. Perhaps they would notice huge differences? :hmmm:

…some of those “wives” were already married to other men (polyandry), and some were mother/daughter (ew). :nope: :nope: :nope: :nope:

Weren’t these women already of the Christian faith…??

How can the women justify this…??

How can Smith & Young justify this…???

How could they ever remember all of the names of their wives.? Were they sealed to all of them.

What would make the LDS true? If they became Catholic like Christ intends for all His children. 👍

yes…

but the whole thing started when Joe got caught with Fanny Alger. He needed to come up with something…polygamy seemed like a good idea.

And, frankly, his death resulted from it. When he tried to convince William Law and his wife into a little foursome, William got angry…one thing led to another and the Expositor was written, the printing press destroyed, Joe arrested, and then killed in a gun battle in jail.

Well, if it were true, The LDS church would not use decietful means to try to draw people into their fold. Look at those “I’m a mormon” ads on Youtube for example; they typically depict someone who’s at least somewhat handsome/pretty and throughout their video-testimony they’re seen smiling, surfing and supposedly getting more out of life. That’s very deliberate-- they want you to look at those people and covet their success.

Moreover, the church’s leaders use deceptive language to make their beliefs seem to be christian-- but they aren’t. Even the missionaries; they’ll say stuff like “We believe we’re saved by grace!”, but when you ask them what they mean by that, their definition of being “saved by grace” is so far removed from what the Bible means when it talks about that very same thing.

From what I can see, it’s a carnal church with carnal teachings and it uses carnal means to draw men in. What more needs to be said?
