What would the Apostles say of the 21st century Catholic Churches

I think the apostles would have a hundred questions:

James: Whats the Trinity again? :confused:

John: What gave you the idea to pray to me? :confused:

Peter: I’m the first Pope? :confused:

Paul: How come your bishops are not allowed to get married? :confused:

etc, etc.

Paul was in favor of celebacy. In fact, he argued for it. He would have said “I am glad SOMEONE listened on this.”

But he also said its better for a man to have his own wife to avoid sexual immorality. So Im sure he’d like to know if he is rightfully to blame by those priests out there itching to get married but couldnt.

Re-read that. If a man cannot stay pure, it is bettter for him to have a wife…it is a result of having trouble, not to prevent it.

The preists who want to marry are not the molesters and the molesters like little boys too much to marry. Reality is that married preisthood would not have prevented the problem. Better screening and the layization of guilty would have.

Besides, Jesus is the one that said that blessed are those who have made themselves unichs for the sake of the Kingdom

“But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.”

Im sure there are some priests out there who are burning with passion for someone they fell in love with. 🙂

the orthodox method is better. making this an option instead of a requirement. Paul would give 👍 to the orthodox church.

But Orthodox bishops cannot be married :confused: Caught you on that one 😛
 
They would say “Amen” after receiving the Eucharist. 👍

Or maybe “What time is midnight mass?”

If I am wrong, someone will correct me, but their bishops are always taken from the Abbies, and they must be single. If you are single first, you can not marry and be ordained, but if you are already married, you can be a priest, but not a bishop.

Correct. Monks are celibate and eligible to become bishops. Priests may marry before their ordination and so cannot. I have heard but may be wrong, that a marriage can be annulled if mutually agreed upon which the wife usually enters religious life.

They’d ask none of those questions. They know exactly what is going on, and we are in communion. 🙂
