Would it be a better or worse society. I believe that feminism was planned and has forever altered the way men and women view each other. Now that feminism has run its course, we have new issues changing the way people view gays. It’s all in the name of equality.

I’m defining feminism in the broadest of terms to include all the feminist types,
You can’t really do that because, to be honest, different groups within feminism can be polar opposites. You have to specific in what type of feminism you’re referencing.

Without feminism, we would live in a world where women could not vote or own property.

This is a rather difficult thought exercise to engage in, though, especially if you are looking at all forms of feminism.

Ther would be very few women doing anything but staying home doing housework.

There are different types of feminism, but I’m talking about the feminist movement as a whole. The types of feminism does not concern me here.

Is there some particular insight you hope to gain from reflecting on this question?

The movement has changed so much from when it started out a a women’s right to vote movement. I’m not sure what you are driving at because there were a number of good things such as right to vote that came from it. Likewise, there are conservative feminism that is concerned about abortion, pornography, easy divorce, contraception which all have hurt women not helped them. Likewise the modern liberal kind which seems to dominate what most people think about feminism as in NOW MS mag (or rag) etc which really doesn’t help any women or children. You can’t just lump all of these things together as one movement.
On the one hand real or conservative feminism is truly concerned about women and their well-being. the liberal modern is only concerned about the stupid and dangerous stuff that hurts women and men and the relationship between them.

I believe that the majority of “feminists” today are, unknownst to themselves, in actuality “masculinists”. So no, they have not helped society and we would be better off if they stepped aside and let the true feminists back in. (what they do now from what I see, is just call them pawns of men, which is woefully ironic)

Can you not all see feminism, abortion, euthanasia and the list goes on are all plans from the devil revealed over the coming time we must make a stand for God and not allow any of this.

Allowing women to vote and own property is of the devil?

I see a world that would still be pretty dang lousy to live in and still very immoral but in a very different way than it is now.

Why equate feminism with abortion and euthanasia? Do you put civil rights in there as well?

the feminists of the 1800s (Susan B Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul) were ANTI ABORTION and were for voting rights (and other issues). I think they would be disgusted at the state of feminism today. The Liberal feminists - they don’t care about ridding the world of porn…just abortion, abortion, abortion rights…

The MODERN feminists (excluding Feminists For Life) but including the ones that write “womyn” because they hate men…they are doing nothing for women’s rights.

And what’s wrong with stay at home moms? For the first few years of life, a mom is important to a child’s development…

Women and men should have civil rights and true humanism. There should be nothing uniquely feminine about basic justice. Blacks didn’t create blackism or blackists to be treated as equals. Why do women have to attach a feminine label to it? To me, feminism is without admission a retribution party to “put men in THEIR place.” Most women realize that and don’t call themselves feminists. A few hang onto the label because it makes them feel included and powerful? Look at what happened to poor Carla Bruni when she said women don’t need feminism anymore. The nutty feminists made her apologize for speaking her mind. I thought feminists want women to speak their minds. I guess only when it agrees with what feminists want. I call that a hypocrite and they usually are only after power. That is why they don’t tolerate dissent.

In that case, I wouldn’t be able to vote, own property, have the decent job I have, wouldn’t have gotten the education I did . . . seriously, somebody thinks that would be a better world?
