I am not the person who can make the decision for you.Besides work I don’t have another source of income. Nor any welfare or benefits. I do not receive unemployment benefit. So my dilemma comes down to this, should I keep trying here or return to my country? My feel’ was often that i should get a diploma in theology.
I am comforted by art and spirituality, thanks.
Sometimes no matter the position of your body you feel your soul is kneeled.
What I have often found is that you will find peace after you make you decision even if it seems like a struggle during the course of the decision making. Not everything we face is black and white on the surface and we sometimes need to seek advice from friends and others who know us better than we know ourselves, or who are more familiar with our situation. I do understand the struggle of being without income because I’ve been there. After 6 months unemployment benefits run out. This country is my home. If a person is single without dependents he or she is not eligible for any type of welfare benefits.
Take two sheets of paper. On the first sheet of paper write the reasons for going back to your own country and on the second the reasons for staying here. In other words, a pros and cons list. That’s one way to make your decision.
Scripture says to seek counsel from every wise man.
One of my favorite Saints is Maximilian Kolbe. Even in the midst of his final martyrdom he maintained the spirits of those condemned to death with him.
With things seem overwhelmingly against us it easy to sink into helplessness, to think that there is to way out. As Christians, we know that even as Christ carried the Cross, the Resurrection lay at the other side. Along the way of the Via Delorosa, Simon the Cyrene was pressed into service to help our Lord carry His Cross.
In terms of looking for good things even when there is darkness, I was thinking about Corrie Ten Boom. Years ago, I read the book The Hiding Place. She learned to thank God even for the fleas because they kept the guards from searching the barracks of the concentration camp, and she could continue to read her Bible.
If it is a sunny day, you have the choice of focusing on the blue sky or how hot it is.
