Are you serious? :confused: Are you…? Seriously? Did you just write that again? You’re a joke, dude (presumably a redneck joke - and for Candide: WSP would be a redneck joke (which is a concept) in the same sense in which Jesus is the truth - they are especially salient incarnations of those concepts).
 
If you think a Philosophy Forum is where you go to tell 'em how you got some good philosophy for 'em, and if they need more info in order to understand what your seemingly senseless slogans mean, gosh darn it, they’d better just ‘google’ it up for themselves… you might be a redneck.

There is something wrong with you. Whats calling warp a “redneck joke” got to do with an intelligent discussion? Would you be in anyway enlightened if i called you a wannabe geek with a low IQ? I think not, even if its true presumably.

Presumably true, huh? LOL! And whence comes this latest inference, oh source of irrefragable ‘truth’? Maybe you didn’t notice, but our friend WSP was the one who claimed for himself the title ‘redneck.’ I have been enlightened by your presuming that I am a “wannabe geek with a low IQ”: I am now that much more aware of the depths of puerile stupidity to which you are capable of descending. 🤷 (Of course, I would have preferred to remain ignorant about that.)

Please guys (Betterave, Mindovermatter2 and Warpspeedpetey) surely that’s enough of this kind of argument? This really doesn’t seem to be getting anyone anywhere and I’m sure it’s causing unnecessary stress on both sides.

From now on, you’ll be ignoring my posts? Funny thing is, not much will change. I guess this was really what Candide was wondering about when he (she?) started this post, and his suspicions have been confirmed: many believers are aggressively dogmatic about what they believe, they aren’t the least bit interested in trying to understand others’ points of view, and further, they aren’t at all ashamed to display this attitude to the world. The unbelievers seem to have made a better showing in this thread, but of course that’s just this thread, and the truth remains the truth, regardless of the occasional or frequent narrow-mindedness of those who believe it.

Surely you’re right. But you ignore the small matter of the truth of the matter, and I think ‘my’ kind of argument actually is an argument. I think “google it if you don’t understand” is not an argument at all. (And MOM2’s latest ‘arguments’ - or ‘contributions,’ let’s say - are far worse than anything WSP has offered.) What do you think?

I don’t want to belabor the point, but isn’t the ugly all-too-human reality of “this kind of argument” really an important part of what is being probed by the questions you posed in the OP?

Again, what is it you want me to research?? I’ve already addressed this point, so for you to jump right back on the treadmill and spit out the same reply is a little frustrating. I appreciate that you’re being more civil than ‘trinitybeliever’ and MOM2, but it really seems to me that you’re still just ignoring what I say and indulging in pure obfuscation (and I think this is true, whether or not you really know the meaning of ‘obfuscation’ ;)).

For the record, I’ve got nothing against rednecks - I love that “On the road again” song, even if I’m not into smoking pot. I’m also sure many rednecks are highly admirable people, and in many ways that includes you, even if giving good arguments isn’t one of your strong points.
