What would my life be without God?

Having God in my life, (Like most of us) doesn’t mean that our Life will be a bed of roses. Far from it!

But unlike people who Don’t have God in their lifes, We who do have God in our lives have “hope and faith” that God will see us through the problems that each of us do face.

Those of us who do have God in our lives, have someone to guide us through the tuff times, the loss of a loved one and the knowledge that we will see that loved one again. We know that better days are always ahead, because God said He’d never give us more than we can handle.

People who don’t have God in their lives are always searching for “Something” to make them “feel good”, because they are truely never content. They may look to drugs, sex, beer, material things, money and the list goes on. Those are only moments of “Feel Good”. They don’t last a life time.

Anyone who doesn’t have God in their lives…will Never be truely “happy.”

Where would I be without God in my life? I don’t know, as He’s always helped me through the tuff times. If I didn’t have God in my life…I’d just be lost.

I had first hand experience of life without God, for the first 25 years of my life. You couldn’t tell me I was unhappy, or unfulfilled; I didn’t care. All I cared about was getting thru the day, & I had lots of help…strangers I thought were friends, drugs, alcohol, parties, etc. I call those the “B.C. days”…Before Christ.

25 years later, I still may be unhappy at times, I’m human. But, today, I have peace. Today, by comparison, I know the difference between an unfulfilled & fulfilled life. That empty hole deep inside could never be filled, no matter how many or what kind of drugs; no amount of alcohol, women, immoral and/or illegal activities, nothing gave me the peace of soul, of spirit, that I have today. Because the only way to fill that empty hole is to surrender to Jesus, & let Him fill it. And He has.

The Church teaches that hell is the absence of God. True. I can attest to that. I’ve been there, & I know. That’s why one of my favorite quotes is, “Religion is for those who are afraid of going to hell. Spirituality is for those who have been there.” Amen.

How would you live without religion? Does your life derive purpose by having a religion? Would you embrace existentialism if you are no longer a Catholic?
without a relationship with God through my Catholic religion I guess I would still try and do what I perceived to be right (most of the time 😊 ). I entered the Church late and this is how I lived beforehand, though not as well. I tried to be a good person because it felt the right thing to do. Entering the Church and learning about my faith then gave purpose to those previous inclinations.

Existentialism is subjective, in the sense that rights and wrongs are primarily determined by the individual. This is not what I would embrace because I (we) know what is right and wrong through the faculty of moral reason which we all possess (e.g. reason tells us that it is good to love people as we like to be loved).
