One thing that bothers me about CAF is how easily we start talking about people in a negative way. This is not good.

Pray for Father Corapi’s good, and leave it at that

@Carmel why? It’s the truth.

He relapsed into drugs and frequenting prostitutes and all sorts of charades. Then he was disobedient to his superiors… he was obviously not acting this way out of immense, Christlike humility - which means it was prideful, not humble.

Sometimes the truth is judgmental and sometimes it hurts.
With all due respect, apart from being disobedient to his superiors at SOLT, you’re making assumptions. Where is your proof of these allegations?

On July 5, 2011, Father Gerald Sheehan, Corapi’s religious superior in the Society of Our Lady of the Trinity, released a press statement accusing Corapi of drug and alcohol abuse, “sexting”, having an affair with a former prostitute, and violating his promise of poverty as a perpetually professed member of the society by owning more than $1 million in real estate, numerous luxury vehicles, motorcycles, an ATV, a boat dock, and several motor boats. He stated, “SOLT’s prior direction to Fr. John Corapi not to engage in any preaching or teaching, the celebration of the sacraments or other public ministry continues. Catholics should understand that SOLT does not consider Fr. John Corapi as fit for ministry.”[19]

Do you suppose his religious superior would make these accusations publicly if they weren’t credible?

There was some accusations against him and I guess he’s been dismissed from his priesthood/office.

This is true of the internet in general. CAF is not as negative as elsewhere, but you are right, it is more negative that it ought to be.

By all means, pray for Fr. Corapi’s good. That is not a recommendation you will see in most internet sites! I like that you leave it up to God to define what his “good” would be. Many of us are only too glad to step up and take God’s place.

if you didn’t sense there was something deeply troubling about father corapi (i admit i admired his homilies greatly) you were not paying attention

my brother met him at one of his talks;

he told me he was drinking like a fish after his presentation

The devil focuses his attention on harming priests first and foremost.

“Strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter.”

In a military skirmish, it’s smartest to take aim at the captain first. In this way, maximum damage can be incurred by the wounding or killing of one man.
