I’ve long thought otters and bats are adorable, but I’m probably not gonna be able to get the necessary license for either ![Sad but relieved face :disappointed_relieved: 😥](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f625.png)

We kept ferrets here in L.A. back when I worked in the pet store. That was over 30 years ago. Hopefully the statute of limitations has expired. Funny thing, if you go in any Petco or Petsmart they have a whole section of ferret supplies, even though keeping them here is illegal.I live in one of the rwo states where owning ferrets is illegsl
A few years ago, a mama squirrel decided the large empty flower pot on my balcony would make the perfect nursery. She brought all manner of twigs for a nest and soon there were two baby squirrels. When they emerged, they were trusting and inquisitive, if a little skittish, but I’m sure I could have tamed them. In my younger days, I would have done so. Soon enough, they were scampering up and down my screen door, damaging it as they chased each other about. I decided then that it was time for them to leave, so I rearranged all the flower pots on the balcony. Mama squirrel got the hint, and carrying each one in her mouth by the scruff of their necks, she made off for the nearby trees - which was something to see as they were nearly the same size as she was.I think it would be cool to have a pet squirrel
