A partial indulgence is granted the Christian faithful who devoutly visit a stational church on its stational day. The indulgence will be a plenary one if they also take part in the morning or evening services conducted in that church. (Cf. the Ceremonial for Bishops, numbers 260-261.)

Is that mentioned in connection with lent or Rome at all?

The station churches of Rome are the ancient places where Pope or his appointed representative said Mass during Lent. There is a different one for each day of lent. This maybe what your handbook refers to.

Look in your missal, at the top of the proper for that day there will be the name of the stational church. Not all days have a stational church listed in the missal. Usually lenten days and Feast Days.The people would gather at a church called the collecta. ( This is where we get the collect of the mass) They’d process singing the litany or a pslam to the stational church for the solemn pontifical mass of the Pope who would process from the Lateran and meet them there. It was the conventual mass of the people and clergy of Rome. I am not sure if you are asking about the novus ordo mass or not, I am a traditioanl Catholic so I don’t know if this info is in a novus ordo missal and may not be followed in the novus ordo. I think there are 45 stational churches in Rome. This is from the earliest days of the Church. At a traditional church you’ll see processions at Corpus Christi, Candlemass, Rogation Days,etc.Hope this helps

Pope Leo III (795-816 A.D.) created the list of Stational Chuches of Rome with 94 stations on 92 days, spanning 40 days of Lent and the Easter octave.

In the latest version of the Manual of Indulgences it is 33.2.

But, you can from a similar visit to some other Catholic churches, as part of the same grant. For a parish church (with Our Father and Creed on the visit), on the solemnity of its Titular or on August 2, the day of the Portiuncula indulgence. Similarly for international, national, or diocesan shrine established by competent authority a) on the solemnity of its TItular, b) once a year, on a day chosen by the Christian faithful c) as often as they assist in a group pilgrimage visiting the shrine. Also a church or an altar on the day of its dedication. And, a church or an oratory or institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life, on the liturgical memorial of their founder.
