This is a pretty wide open thread, you may answer even if you’re not a brother or nun. You may also post links to websites which provide a summary or any info on what this vocation is like. Any info you can give me is appreciated - I know virtually nothing about this particular vocation atm.

TO BE A MONK: AN ESSAY
[An Essay on the Cistercian Vocation]
These few pages present a descriptive sketch of what it means to be a Cistercian monk. After a theoretical explanation, there are a few practical considerations. Hope this helps 👍

So, if I was a monk at New Melleray Abbey, I’d have to be up at 3:15am? (Checks time) Great, I only have 14 minutes to sleep before I have to get up! Lol, apart from some of the practical considerations like that, they really make the vocation sound good ay? Well to me at least…
Anyway, yep that was quite helpful, thanks!

Suscipe - Thanks for posting the blogs. I don’t have the patience to read through 4 x 2 years worth of blogs at the moment, but I did take a look and they seem to give some sorta indication of what it’s like. I’ll take another look later on (maybe after I get some sleep).
