Remember from high school English class the idea of foreshadowing? The author gives you a hint or idea of what’s going to happen. This isn’t exactly like that but follow me for a second …
When the Blessed Mother and St Joseph lose the child Jesus and find Him three days later in the temple it’s kind of a foreshadowing, Jesus is telling us, if you want to find Me go to My house. The Blessed Mother and St Joseph knew He was the Christ. If they would have thought “let me go to where the most logical place He would be is” it would have been the temple.
So, in other words Jesus is in the tabernacle waiting, lonely, begging for us to come see Him, to visit Him, to stop by for a minute and say “I love You”. He who is infinite loves us so much He put Himself in a tiny little space, in a little metal box, and He waits there for us, we who ignore, we who are ungrateful, we who are unworthy.
What would you do if a congressman invited you over to their house. It would be a big deal, what does he want? I have to wear a suit and tie! You would be so proud, that you were asked for by a man with so much power and influence in the government.
What do we do with the King of the Universe? He is calling us, He wants us to visit Him in His house. No we put Him off, He can wait until His 45 minutes on Sunday, as long as the Mets aren’t playing or my kid has a football game. If those things happen then I will try to squeeze Him in on Saturday night, but that’s my poker night with my buddies so if I get to Mass I’m gonna run out as soon as I receive and not even wait till Mass has truly ended.
(You can see I have a lot of experience with this! LoL)
Well I shall end my rant here, but brothers and sisters, please I beg you, visit our Lord, just stop by for a few minutes during your day in any Church you pass and say “I love You Jesus”. He is in the tabernacle, just waiting for you!!! The whole world could pass away, you could be the last thing alive on this earth, no other creature, and He would be there waiting for you, He loves you, individually, just you. Mother Angelica tells us if every grain of sand were a human wouldn’t God love all the beaches? Yes, but He would love just as much the single and only grain of sand if all the others never existed. God does not just love the human species, He loves every person! Individually!
