My dear friend Monica

I only found out about her on these forums a few moths ago. She jumped into my life here. I made her my patron after that. She is one of the greats. I haven’t read a real lot about her yet. Just a little. I have the holy hour she practised on my www on www.heavensmessengers.org and the best website on her is stgemmagalgani.com/2008/08/introduction-to-life-of-st-gemma.html
A lot of Italian books are yet to be translated too. We’ll have lots more to read one day.
I was very enchanted when she stormed into my life and only later I found the connection and made her my patron. It was a great time for me.

God bless you:thumbsup:🙂

looks like she chose you! 😉

that is a great website, it’s one of my favourites too. It has many of her prayers.

the book I’m reading is ‘the Life of St Gemma Galgani’ by Venerable Fr Germanus. (her spiritual director) it was kind of difficult to find though, lol!

she’s definiteley a great Saint 🙂

God bless!!

My dear friend Zundrah

Glad you like it. I call it a theory because it’s a concept I came up with and may have doctrinal errors I don’t know. Not being a theologian. I’m glad to hear of your feeling the presence of God in your prayer. It must be a great comfort and blessing for you.

God bless you:thumbsup:🙂

My dear friends

My P.P. recently said we shall grow in happiness in heaven due to knowledge but we don’t know exactly how this will happen. I’ve been thinking about it and the only conclusion I can come to is as follows. Hope it’s understandable.

We have the degree of our abilty to love set when we die. This love is purified and perfected in purgatory so we can love God back in heaven with perfect love. This love cannot increase though. God is infinite and infinitely loveable. As we go through eternity we will learn more about and understand this Infinite Love which is God. The more we know about Him the more we will love Him, and this will cause an eternal increase in happiness. But we still have our level of love we’re capable of fixed. It’s just that we use what love we have to love the new things we see in God and learn and understand about God throughout eternity. The more we know about God the more things we can love with the love we already have. It will not be boring as we grow in happiness, indeed ecstatic bliss, throughout eternity.

Hope my explaination makes sense.

God bless you all 👍🙂

*“What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,” * --1Cor 2:9

I typed some thoughts, but deleted the paragraphs because they were so poorly written. We just have no idea. We only know what God told us above and we have to remember this text when times get tough – or toughter.

God bless,
Dan

Here’s what the Apostle says about it:

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Cor 2:9)

My interpretation of that is, we can’t even begin to imagine what God has in store for us! 🙂

I agree. I am just talking about the mechanics of the whole process. Heaven will be far greater than anything we could ever comprehend or understand until we get there.

God bless you friend:thumbsup:🙂

My dear friends

Here are some thoughts on the subject. Being a not theologian I hope I make sense. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this or related topics too.

We cannot view God in human terms and try to understand Him using concepts common to us that we see and experience in our world. The reason for this is people often think of God as an infinite being, and so He is, but they think in terms of the space or volume He occupies. We cannot think of the infinite God this way. Time, space, all matter, all forces and all of creation exists within God, and God continually interacts with all and keeps all in existence, but all this is not a part of God. God is not a space so you can’t measure Him in terms of volume. All the things we know as mentioned do not exist in Gods world. I say world because it’s a concept we understand but God has no world. God is not a space, there is no time with God, nor material things bar our Blessed Lord and those assumed into heaven, no forces that control our world or any other created thing in heaven, which is God. God is being itself. God’s world is God and only He exists in it, bar angels and saints of course.
In heaven which is God who is infinite and eternal Living Love we shall exist in God and experience God who is Infinite Love and there will be no time, space, etc we find in our world as mentioned. God is infinite and eternal Living Love and as per my other theories the Infinite Love which is God is present in it’s entirety in the most infinitesible place ( I say place because it’s a concept I understand ). So God is completely present everywhere because Infinite Love is present everywhere. We shall just be in His being. It will be blissfully ecstatic as we be in a being who is infinite and eternal Living Love and see, experience and feel this infinite love. We will just want to love God back when we experience all this. The more we can love Him the happier we’ll be. To be as happy as possible we have to fill our hearts and souls with as much grace as possible. We do this so that grace which is love can transform us into a more loving person through our cooperation with the love of God. The holier we become the more loving we become. To become a Saint is to be a very loving person and Saints have the capacity to love God back the most in heaven and this means they get much more happiness there than most. This is why the church teaches us and wants us to become Saints. And provides all the necessary help to achieve it. The church wants us to be as happy as possible now, but especially in heaven.

Hope my theory makes sense.

God bless all:thumbsup:🙂

Well hardly…God is a parent and thus has things for his children to do…since this earth is still going round and round…some of us will volunteer to be angels and return to earth…others may choose other things to do…after all its for all eternity…its hardly a drugged up state where we just stare at a light and say how lovely…your post reminds me of a fellow teacher ,in our catholic (small c) high school, once kidding that he wants to go to hell since all the whores are there…then he laughed…you make heaven sound so dull,I guess thats the purpose !!! So much to do down here and so little time…after all those who make it to the promised land outwitted the ugly charmer with the tail…so he/she wants to educate and save others down here…there is this guy on the school board I want ot try and influence to lower taxes and really give the kids a worthwhile education…see ya

I do not know what it is like exist in heaven; but I know it will not be the same as now! 🙂

"But,as it is written,’‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those
who love him’-
-1 Corinthians 2:9

"For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.
-1Corinthians 13:12

"So it is with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a physical body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. Thus it is written, ‘The first man,Adam, became a living being’; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual that is first, but the physical, and then the spiritual. The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. As was the man of dust, so are those who are of the dust; and as is the man of heaven, so are those who are of heaven,. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we will also bear the image of the man of heaven.
What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the impersihable. Listen, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When this perishable body puts on imperishability, and this mortal body puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will be fulfilled:‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’
‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the lord, because you know that in the Lord your labour is not in vain. "
-1 Corinthians 15:51-54

We Christians know, through Christ, what is done on the earth. Christ has overcome this world. we praise His Holy name, we pray His kingdom come-Heaven on earth-that eternal happiness! :harp:

That’s great. I’ll try and daydream about it. Time well spent I imagine.

…I imagine…gee…lennons ode to atheism…me I prefer a 'heaven’with things to do…like coming back to earth and helping fight satan…with a little more better playing field! here satan has it all…the media, hollyweird, songwriters ,so called meditation and yoga stuff that just is contemplation on self and not Truth which is God. …and so while you daydream there will be some of us in the trenches trying to save others…life is a circle…not a promise of a drug trip…its all in the playing of the game…and one has to take that bat off of ones shoulders and take a swing at that ball of tyranny! I will be judged on how many swings I take using that bat of the bill of rights…if you dont want to take part in saving Gods word please git outta the way …now wheres my tea bag…

In discussion with my Bible Study Group, none of the members could explain just how one might exist in heaven. All have faith in the Lord and feel that we will be in heaven for eternity. But when the question comes up as to whether we will have a body, or it is just our soul that gets to heaven - we were lost.
My question as to whether the “mind” of a person dies with the body, or it is what survives to go to heaven - just how does the soul or d eatherl benkdoul

Where your treasure is there will be your heart also. If I was to ponder heaven every waking minute then I would be praying every minute I’m alive. Would that save souls?

May God bless you friend:thumbsup:🙂

My dear friend

When we die our soul goes to heaven. We have our mind too. We get the body back at its peak on the last day at the resuurection. Further to what I’ve said I think we will be totally absorbed in God with our mind and will not want to think about anything else much. It’ll be like losing 3 sons at war and not knowing what happened to them and constantly living in hope their alright. Then 50 yrs later one shows up at the door. You are so filled with joy it’s a time for celebration. My son is alive and home. You don’t know what happened to the other 2 sons, but now is a time of great joy and celebration. So it will be with those that are lost - we will be busy celebrating, and not worried about the lost. We will see things as God sees them too. And God is infinitely good and merciful to all in this life. We will see this at the last day. This will change our view on the lost.

May God bless you:thumbsup:🙂

I’m not sure what Heaven will be like but I am sure that it will be pure ecstasy and bliss. I sure do hope that I make it there! ;)😛

My dear friend Holly

It will be great I’m sure. Well worth the small effort we must make here. We shall find the most peaceful rest in God as we see and experience Infinite Love and the sheer ecstatic bliss that comes from that.

May God bless you always:thumbsup:🙂
