Married brother and sisters? Married father and daughter? Married man with his pet? Old man with child? Polygamy? 1 man with 1women and a man? Don’t laugh too much. Our society is heading that way already.:hmmm:
All the above are coming once our society gives in to gay “marriage”. The devil is achieving his goal of destroying families, then destroying the entire mankind.

When the society accepts the moral decay in the name of “rights” and “freedom”, the flood gate of hell is broken loose. Our current president and his supporters are the major contributors to this pathetic epidemic. A young man said to me the other day in the parking lot: “No liberal can be true Catholic. Their beliefs are totally against the Church’s teaching.” How true! And how sad that there are so many Catholic church goers are big liberals. The liberals are the best helpers to the evil one.

Transgender surgery paid for by public tax dollars. Then a propaganda campaign to make Transgender “marriage” and transgender families normative.

Sex with minors since the groundwork is being laid by judges who have decided a child can pick which restroom to use in school. So why not let kids have sex with adults?

The rest is here:

firstthings.com/web-exclusives/2006/08/robert-george-beyond-gay-marri

It’s all about sex. Marriage is only about benefits, otherwise, it means nothing. Nothing right or normal, that is.

Peace,
Ed

Did you search on beyondmarriage. org? The paper was written in 2006 by a group of self-proclaimed LGBT leaders. From the search results most of the attention it received was from 3rd rate anit-gay groups followed by 3rd rate pro marriage groups. I am being generous with the 3rd rate label.

From the group’s about page:
In April 2006 a diverse group of nearly twenty LGBT and queer activists - some organizers, some scholars and educators, some funders, some writers and cultural workers - came together to discuss marriage and family politics as they exist in the United States today.

We met over the course of two days for lively conversations in which there was often spirited disagreement. However, we do all stand in agreement with the statement entitled “Beyond Same Sex Marriage”. (bold emphasis added.)

If anyone takes this group, of less than 20 individuals, and their paper as representative of the gay community as a whole…well like the old joke goes “if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you”

If you are truly interested in the real scoop on LGBT families may I suggest Equality Florida and similar mainstream organizations.

Well, let’s talk about ‘blended families,’ ‘families with more than one conjugal partner,’ and families that are and do consist of whatever mix and match combination of people desired. That’s the goal: lots of sex, lots of benefits, and a label called “family” that ignores what real, functional families are about.

This isn’t just about LGBT families either. Marriage equality simply means ‘whatever combination of sex partners you can think of, with benefits.’

Equality Florida? Let’s talk about polyamory. There was a Poly Conference last April.

Peace,
Ed

There are some people in the LGBT movement who believe that seeking civil marriage for same-sex couples is a bid for assimilation, rather than acceptance, and they are against it. They want their families to have benefits that married couples get, but they do not want to pretend to be the same as heterosexuals in order to get them. The opinions are all over the place.

About that bridge. Just kidding.

You are defending fringe groups, which on either side of the divide stretch the truth till its no longer recognizable, for reasons that are not nice and which do damage. Investigate the groups who are excited about a 2006 report by less than 20 self-described activists and perhaps ask yourself if you want to be associated with those groups. The report hasn’t excited many in the various gay communities.

I think I said it before but here goes again. There are both straights and gays who might like to see polygamy, most do not. The evidence is pretty solid that gay rights and SS marriage have nothing to do not promoting polygamy or polyamony.

Provide more information on Poly Conference last April you referenced and I’ll investigate it.

The entire LGBT population was and is a small, but organized fringe group, yet here we are.

Al I’ll say is look up “non-monogamous marriage.” That’s the goal: lots of sex, lots of benefits and a label called marriage, turning marriage into nothing. That’s what’s coming. And it will be heavily promoted once a few “hurdles” are overcome, like morality - right and wrong.

Peace,

Congratulations on being a lawyer.

Are you suggesting we go back to a Holy Roman Empire type of government? I don’t believe there was much religious discussion back then either though.
Nope. Go back and read it again.
We can only speculate about what our founding fathers thought about homosexuality but I concede its likely they did not approve but its also likely they did not approve of the CC either. Who knows how their thinking would have evolved. Even in the CC thinking evolves. However, We can say with certainty that the founding fathers believed in the strict separation of church and state–no need for speculation about it.
Research as to the laws in existence at the time is ample proof. And the approval or disapproval of the CC is irrelevant. No church at the time - none, nada, zip - approved of homosexual activity, let alone homosexual marriage. Zero. Did not exist.
I will concede to your legalese.
It is not legalese - it is simple facts.
Still, it has much to do with future legal direction. Don’t you think that attorneys will use, as evidence, the sexual abuse in the churches, schools, boy scouts, etc? Doesn’t the state have a vested interest in protecting minors who are potential victims of pedophiles?
Use abuse for what purpose? Your question is not clear.
If I was unclear in previous posts I will try to be clear on this one. There are straight and gay people who illegally indulge in bestiality, pedophilia and polygamy. They should be prosecuted within our legal system when found out. Adults whether gay or straight should do all they can to protect animals, minors and venerable adults against sexual abuse. Sexual abuse of children, bestiality and polygamy are not internal aspects of SS marriage or LGTB civil rights. Such illegal acts are committed by disturbed people.
Pay attention to the changes noted in my previous post. SS “marriage” is the door opener to polyamory.

I agree with everyone who’s said that ‘plural marriage’ is probably next (it’s already being pushed by the media). But seriously though, once the actual meaning of marriage goes out the window then everything goes. Consent between adults isn’t even going to matter at some point (‘cross generational’ relationships aka pedophilia). I was talking with my little sister today who supports gay marriage and she rationalized her views by saying ‘love is love’. I said, I love my cat, does that mean it’s okay if I marry him? And she giggled, but agreed. :(Love is love. It doesn’t matter who or what that love is directed to. I think people with her line of thinking are missing the definition of (marital) love as something essentially human, something life giving, that can only exist between one man and one woman. I think if we as a culture regarded the beauty of marriage and relationships and their power more highly we wouldn’t be looking at the mess we’re in now. Just sayin’.

The entire LGBT population was and is a small, but organized fringe group, yet here we are.
Yes here we are, the LGBT population is somewhere between 3 and 6%, not large but significant. In addition we have parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, friends who support gay civil rights and monogamous SS relationships creating a majority, at least in the US.

I couldn’t agree more about monogamous relationships being the goal. I must confess though that I am confused. Among the things that it sounds like you are claiming are that the LGBT community is, as a whole,** promotes** open sex and multiple sex partners, that the LGBT community is organizing the fight for non-monogamous marriage and that SS marriages are predominately not monogamous?
Nope. Go back and read it again.
I did and it is apparent, at least to me, that we are talking past each other.

Closing on a brighter note, it is also apparent that we both are against non-monogamous marriage, polygamy and polymony so lets use our passion as leverage to pray and fight for monogamous marriages to our capabilities.

Peace to all
Frank

I’d like to see an attorney try it. They’d succeed in front of a prejudiced jury, but not in front of one that would hear the facts. It is more likely that a victim’s mother or grandmother covered up their abuse than that it was their bishop who did so. There are far more married pedophiles than celibate ones, both in absolute numbers and by percentage of those in each group who are offenders. That does not let any offenders off the hook, but the facts are enough to shame anyone who wants to try to single out the Catholic Church or Catholic priesthood as the most common offenders against the innocence of children. It simply is not so.

Polygamy is committed by “disturbed people”? Where is polyamory on the DSM-5? I would like you to find an expert from the psychiatric community who will tell us what disturbance the polyamorous suffer from, or what therapy might be sought out by those who want to be cured. Obviously, same-sex marriage had no way of winning acceptance until the psychiatric community removed homosexuality from the DSM. Bestiality and pedophilia are still there. Polyamory is not.

The idea that civil government has any legitimate interest in defining, enforcing, or even encouraging chastity is being roundly rejected by secular society, on the invented grounds that chastity is a religious invention. Yes, they think that sexual behaviors are in some special class that have no repercussions felt by the rest of society, such that society would have some excuse to put boundaries on it!

This took over 40 years of steady doses of lies and deception to reach this point. It was engineered. This did not happen overnight.

What’s next is group sex with benefits and a label called “marriage” to gain access to those benefits. This is not just about LGBT people who were on the fringes regarding “marriage” in recent memory.

Tribalism is the goal which stretches back to 1968 and “radical individualism.” And the book, I’m OK - You’re OK, whatever OK means to you.

Pope Benedict:

The Holy Father says:
Code:
If we cannot have common values, common truths, sufficient communication on the essentials of human life–how to live how to respond to the great challenges of human life–then true society becomes impossible."
Commentary by the Practical Catholic:

"How true this is. Where there is no communication, no culture, no shared experience, there is no society; because there is no people. There remains only a vast and foreboding, unforgiving sea of individuals ready to crash upon each other and the world with the slightest wind. Without a common basis, we have not the vaulted pluralism we’re taught to embrace, but Babel, in all the confusion and madness of a society with no binding forces. Already we are seeing the tensions of this fragmentation breaking out across cultures.

“Without common values and truths, such as in the socieites we find ourselves in, we find the fabric of society torn like Joseph’s cloak, by a great many tribes which would like to lay claim to the title of favored. Leftists, conservatives, anarchists, nihilists, secularists, objectivists, the shallow, the entertainers, the entertained, all vying for control against each other. Tribalism can indeed spawn differentiation, but without some common ground, and in the face of increasing jargon not only in the academies but in the cultures; we shall be left with madness. In the end this tribalism can only result in the decline of all their claims, and the alienation of one from the other. Babel is the happenstance when society tries to become God.”

Ed

Where is " the sexual abuse in the churches, schools, boy scouts, etc?" signaling out the CC. Unless you discount schools, boyscouts, etc.

I think I must have misread your point. Sorry about that…but what does any of this have to do with plural marriage?

The connection between same-sex marriage and plural marriage is **not **that people with same-sex attraction also want plural marriages, or want them even as much as some heterosexuals do.

The connection is that there isn’t a legal argument for same-sex marriage that won’t serve to argue for plural marriage, as well, and there are a good many arguments in favor of plural marriage that same-sex marriage does not have. Do not think that the possibility of selecting a much-younger person as a lover is any exception. History does not teach that people with same-sex attraction have anything more against that possibility than anyone else.

Same-sex marriage has not been achieved at the ballot-box, but is being achieved in the courts after gaining tolerance in public opinion. Plural marriage is headed that way. (See: Sister Wives.)

Sounds like a Catholic who’s been watering down the Gospel with the secular Kool-Aid!

Why the redefinition of marriage from a man and a woman to just a “monogamous relationship”? Is there any scientific basis to say that only 2 people can love each other? Why not 3 or 4 people? If children being raised by 2 men or 2 women is just as good as a man and a woman, why not 2 women and 1 man?

Perhaps you personally disagree with it. But hey, who are you to tell polyamorous people that their love isn’t real?

You can say this will never happen, but it already is. Utah is in the process of striking down its ban on polygamy.
